HELP!! I think my info being hacked/scammed-SOLVED with help-THANKX

help!!
I got an email from good friend. apparently a third party has registered a business using his name and my contact/addy/phone # etc. We fear this may be part of an identity theft , scam or other such bad newz.

The only review of the false biz was posted by bot on 6/2011 I have no idea who else to contact other an the review forum(they replied quickly and is looking into it) and the source of the info factual.com- ironic name all things considered.
Neither of us had anything to do wih this bogus biz.

I thought the US has a bunch of new governmental resources for identity related thefts and misrepresentations. And if the originator of the crime is in another state from you that pushes it into being a federal crime. Federal crime = federal time. And that opens up the door to your federal resources for investigations. Have you looked for any of those things on-line ? (try keywords identity theft, fraud, investigations, etc.)

all ended well IMO=the false info has been deleted- the source sent a nice apology saying that it happened due something called 'crawlers' must be some kind of bot.
I guess we ll need to google our names from time to time to see what is there.

The State of Texas replied that no such biz was ever registered.

I hope I do not need to do more regarding al this.

thanks to you too Shorty- i did look at all that but started with the review site and then worked backwords to see who the source of that data was- I have heard back already from both of them and thre State of Tx so they indeed take all his seriously.
