IMHO that motor is like 20 times the power you will need for a ball mill unlesss you plan on making one that can tumble more than a hundred pounds of material, why dont you use a smaller motor then you could use a wall wart, or even a 115 volt motor that way thers no extra equipment involved (wall wart) my ball mill has a 1/30 hp 115volt motor on it and I mill up to 15 pounds of material at a time, the gear ratio used to slow down the rpm will give you plenty of tork to turn the drum.

Peace all...

More probably, for make it smoke :p

The wire for remote turn-on is the green one, and for turn the PSU on, you need to connect it with the ground.
Yes, I forgot that you need to ground the green wire to turn the supply on (the most important detail, silly me), however, isn't the brown wire the 'Power OK' one? As far as I know, the supply will not work unless that terminal is set to a logic high, so to make it work you simply need to connect the brown wire to the 3.3v orange line, and ground the green terminal by connecting it to the black wires.

Your PSU is not an ATX power supply, it does not require jumpering wires to make it work. You want your tumbler to run slowly so I'd recommend the 5v line (red and black wires)

Your motor won't draw much current at that voltage so the wires will be fine.

Also, some power supplies require a load on the 5v rail to operate.

ATX power supplies need the green wire tied to a black wire for it to turn on. The POWER OK lead should be left alone as it is an output signal from the psu to the motherboard.
