Google PageRank & Backlinks

I've been working on my website to try and increase my Google Page Rank as when searching for "HighTechDealZ" I'm not even top 5 in search results ??? or "HighTechDealZ.com" I'm bottom on the list on first page :-/

I'm not exactly sure why this is but I've been doing research on finding out why and it seems [link=http://www.dailytechnologytips.com/2008/05/backlink-definition-usage-and-tips.html]"BackLinks"[/link] are a crucial part of [link=http://www.dailytechnologytips.com/2008/05/pagerank-definition-usage-and-tips.html]google page rank[/link].

so... I'm thinking of implementing a links section on my website to incorporate links to other sites in exchange for a link on their site back to mine [highlight]Are there any website owners out there that would be interested in swapping links?[/highlight] This would help me out and you out at the same time as we would both get a quality back link to each other. I get about 300-750 hits per day and have steadily increased in traffic ever since I've started back in March. It seems like my Google rank would be higher but no..

It does take time to move up the ranks, it took my site a few months and quite a bit of advertising to get there.

Im not saying your one of these people but quite a lot of people make a website and expect to get thousands of people using it after 2 days of setting it up. If only that was the case.

My tips would be to use key words in the domain, have the best META tags you can, use a signature with a link to your site on forums that are related to your site, word of mouth and using money wisely.

My site is no where near related to yours but I am prepared to offer some advertising for a small cost if you would like.
