Good starter games for PS3?

Hello all, I'm getting my PS3 either tonight or tomorrow afternoon, and I've been bugging myself to find some good games, I've looked over T_J's 'Best PS3 Games' thread, and I've taken a look at a few mentioned there and they look good. This is a list of the ones I'm strongly considering/will be getting, and I wanted your opinions on if these are a good introduction to PS3 gaming:

1. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
2. Uncharted2: Among Thieves
3. Resistance: Fall of Man
4. Resistance 2
5. Just Cause 2

Any suggestions/comments? (I'm not going to get Black Ops or Cod4/MW2 as I've already got them for my 360) Thanks for your time.

ME 1 & 2 are great games, spent way too many hours on 'em both for the 360, though the PS3 version for ME2 includes some of the downloadable content.... Bioshock was fun, but Bioshock 2 doesn't really appeal to me anymore, it did at first but thinking back on the original (I know it's not the same) I just don't think it'd be that enjoyable for me, though the new one looks wicked awesome. Thanks for your suggestions though, got anymore?

have You played Dead space yet? Dragon Age Origins is a cool one don't know if it's a PS3 or not. Heavy Rain is supposed to rock and it's only on the PS3.

ME 3 is do out this year!!

I've heard Dead Space gets really repetitive. Dragon Age is tempting, the ultimate edition is out currently....hmm. Can't wait for ME3!

DA 2 is on pre-order now. ME-3 release early date is August 26, but most likely will be in November.

I've put lots of hours in DAO and Awakenings. Have a lot of texture mods.

The uncharted games and just cause 2 are amazing. Usually I get bored of games after a couple hours, well iv beaten both uncharted games twice and I have logged 74 hours of game time on just cause 2 ;).

I'm also a fan of the assassin's creed games

I've got about 175 hours total across all my Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 saves. Closest place I could find with Just Cause 2 in stock that wasn't online was more than 19 miles away. I'll probably just go with Uncharted for now.

I can't seem to find any info on 'Near', do you happen to have a link to some more info?

Edit: I found 'N.O.V.A.' of which, the 'N' stands for Near, if that's what you meant?

gran turismo 5 is AWESOME! i cant put it any other way... modern warfare 2 is good. black ops is ok at best.. what kind of games you looking for?

Sell that ugly PS3 and buy some more xbox 360 games :)
Or send the PS3 to me and i'll let you play black ops with me on xbox live :D I always win.....

Ended up getting three games for a really good price. Found Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for $25 used, no original case. I had passed a triple game deal on the way to the Pre-Owned section in Game Stop and went back, I remembered seeing Uncharted on the box. It included Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, and Tomb Raider: Underworld (all brand new) for $30!

Edit: Haha Moh, I'm still tempted to get an XBL account for my copy of Black Ops, I was playing online at my friend's house on his PS3 and we were kicking some A$$ at Sticks & Stones, though there was the occasional very loud F-Bomb from him whenever he'd get hit with a Tomahawk. :crackup:
