Don't take this thread too xirriously.....

It's why it's posted in the Geek's corner and not the general thread. Just fun stuff to banter over.

I've had fun and my mind has been expanded just listening to everyone here.

I see we've got the attention of one of the sentinel's here. Welcome Ped.

One thing about the "let's check gravity to rule out expansion".... What if.....

The Earth IS expanding(increasing volume) but also having its density decreased in a proportionate amount. Would that not result in a similar gravitational field?

Just a thought. I didn't read pages 2-4 though so someone may have mentioned this earlier.

If the mass is the same and gravity is the same, the less dense Earth would not be at equilibrium and would collapse back to the size it should be, as dictated by physics.

Sorry I've been out of line. Not other excuse I apologized and it won't happen again. Hope nobody was offended for real. Maybe someone learned something.

Density does have to do with gravity. Higher density means a more concentrated gravitational source and thus an object say the earth's mass but half the size would have more gravity on the surface. We can assume twice as much due to relative distance from the center of gravity.
