Hello, so a recent endeavour of mine has been to start a small Cloud Hosting business by linking up with a reseller provider to offer servers at the lower end of the 'Pricing' spectrum.

Its hard to get advice for website design, pricing etc but i may aswell try.
I ask if anyone from the geek corner can provide some feedback on the site and information included and maybe you'll go an extra mile and signup and look at the CP, Criticize me, give feedback TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

I've known the LPF community to be on the fairer side of thinking and i'd appreciate your opinions.

Heres a link: Homepage - Quadex Hosting

I'd like to see more about "choice of OS" before the signup page. Is this windows or Linux? Which versions? 32bit or 64bit?

And this sentence needs some work (grammar and punctuation). As it is it doesn't really make much sense.

Looking for a different plan?, just sign up and few our list of 20+ plans or even request your very own custom plan!.

I'm sure you wanted more feedback on the specs and other stuff. To be honest I've never priced out a cloud computing hosting service, so the way the pricing works is new to me and I can't really be a judge for that.

Hey, Im sorry this really doesn't answer any questions you have, but I have questions myself for you. A few weeks ago a buddy of mine asked me if I wanted to start a business with him. I'm hesitant, but also think it could great if it works out. Cloud hosting was actually one of our main ideas.

Do you think this is actually something we should strive for, or just find a decent job and forget about having our own business?

Theres a whole lot of factors as you probably know.
Just about all hosting markets are saturated and its hard to stand out from the others, it would also depend on the investment you'd plan to make, personally i'd suggest you start as a reseller and get a site + clients and slowly work up from there.

When you first open for bussiness unless you have alot of clients waiting its going to pay way more if you find yourself a job, that being said things wont be very busy when you only have 1-5 clients and two people could easily have jobs + answer emails and support tickets and keep things running.

All in all i've only been around the hosting business for 3 months and i myself know i've got along way to go before this becomes are nice source of income.

Set up the business regardless, just for the experience. In a world where a regular college degree isn't a ticket to a good job, having some experience under your belt that you can cite can be invaluable. You could even set up the business for something as simple as helping local people/businesses with IT services. Provided you can make the calls, it pays relatively well, even if not that steady, and isn't that hard. I knew some kids out of high school who did that and did pretty well for themselves while they went to college and other stuff.

Of course if the business isn't worth your time, don't be afraid to close up shop, but it's always good to get real business experience and another thing to put on your resume.

I really appreciate both of your responses. I talked to my buddy more about this, and we are going to sit down and talk about exactly what we want to do.

In the meantime though, can you give me suggestions on how to get started. I honestly don't know where to begin. For example, are there legal conditions involved meaning we need to get certain paper work, or even a lawyer.

To OP I am really sorry to hijack your thread.

Bionic-Badger makes good points.

One thing to keep in mind is that most cloud providers now offer value add services on top of remote access to a VM for web and/or other app use... stuff like SLB, VPN, FW, etc. so factor that into your pricing model if you aren't in a position to offer a competitive solution so you stay relevant.
