Okay so as many of you probably know the blu-ray drive in your computer is all fucked up by a governing bunch of assholes who decided to make our lives hell by incorparating all kinds of blocks and limits on the playback of the blu-ray disc. Anyway, the problem is that when you attempt to hook your computer via HDMI to your big ass LCD the disc will begin to play and then stop because the "content protected" bullshit. Some people have had success bypassing this by setting up the LCD and the only monitor in the Nvidia control panel. I am not one of those people. I bought a sweet computer with a blu-ray player and shit and I bought a big old 46" LCD TV with 1080p and now I cannot use them together. As you could imagine I am pretty annoyed. My options are
1. Do as they want and buy a Blu-ray player for the TV (even though a big reason I payed a shit load extra for my computer was for the blu-ray player) or
2. Download a pirated version of anydvd HD (might need a little help finding this)
3. Kill the fucks who created these fucked up blocks and go to jail where I will not have to worry about Blu-ray.

Suggestions, comments, insight?

If you end up buying a player consider buying a Playstation 3. Get a gaming console and a blu-ray player on that nice big LCD.

I used to have a PS3. I sold it because I don't play it. I put the money to go toward my computer because I figured I could use that as the Blu-ray player.

I think I am just going to make things simple and buy a blu-ray player. It just really pisses me off that the slimy bastards are getting away with this kind of behavior. To treat their customers this way and force them into buying 2 blu-ray players when we are already are paying a lot of money for 1.

Hey yobresal, I've noticed lately your language has been getting more and more coarse... You used the F word 3 times and the S word 3 times in your post.. Could you tame it down a bit? There are kids who browse this forum.

Thanks.

You know pseudo you are absolutely right. My language has gotten out of hand. I am not sure why this has happened. My patients and temper have also been kind of crazy. It could be because me and my girlfriend broke up or it could be because customs has my $2500 package or it could be an accumulation of many things in my life that don't seem to be going as well as I would have hoped. I think maybe I need a vacation. I have been really stressed out lately and it is affecting me in a way I do not like. I apologize for my behavior as of late. I will be working on this not only for the forums sake but for my own as well.

No worries. Take deep breaths, try not to let it get to you. Things usually tend to work out in the end.

Anyways, for your bluray problems, another option is to switch back to XP.. As I understand it this is only a problem with Vista.

In the meantime, here's a copy of anydvd hd.

Really? only with vista you say? Well I have a version of XP but I am not sure that it has the software capabilities to run the blu-ray player. Hmmmm. I will have to ponder this. I will check out that download as well. Thanks for the pointer.

I'l try not to throw the RGB scanner against the wall in a fit of rage. Darn thing is probably too heavy anyway.

Sorry to hear, Yobresal. I hope everything turns out. Many members seem to be going through a tough time right now for various reasons, myself included. I know what brightened my day up yesterday were those GITD sheets- thanks very much!

You are a very appreciated member of this forum, don' let yourself get too down, I'm sure it will all turn out all right.

me too... I lost about $3800 within 1 week by buying lots of BDR-S03 sleds that turned out to not be 8x as they are advertised.

I'm trying to not let it get to me and will be using this experience as a motivator for me to work harder and find other creative ways to create revenue (such as the stock market and other types of investments).

just keep a positive outlook on things and everything will work out.

Here's some things to read for getting blu ray to play on your tv. it is possible.

here's some people with same problem.. i haven't looked through all the pages but someone might propose a solution:

this might work as well:

Couldn't have said it better.

DO WHAT YOU WANT 'CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE! YOU ARE A PIRATE!

YARR YARR

Yobresal, poor man speaking here: I live in Argentina. Do you know how much a blu-ray costs here? And blu-ray disks? You don't even have a clue!

How do I watch HD movies, then?

Torrents, TORRENTS my fella. PM me and I'll teach you how to download very good quality rips and how to watch them on a big screen TV. I watch movies on my 47" Sony Bravia using my computer.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy a blu-ray player. Waste of money and it's full of DRM s**t that makes it annoying even for clients who actually buy the product.
