I don´t have the place for a subwoofer or more speakers.

I cast an eye at the Hercules XPS 30 and the Creative GigaWorks T20.

The Hercules aren´t available right now.

Are there other options?

Thanks

I am a fan of M-Audio AV40 when it comes to desktop speakers that *almost* sound like reference monitors for not too much money. All the other "computer" speakers I've listened to over the years sound like garbage next to my M-Audio's. If you don't have much space the AV20's is a good compromise, I have these at home and the bigger AV40's at the office.

They were also one of my considered options. I may buy them when I don´t get the Hercules XPS 30 for <$60. Thank you.

I read about a bugging sound when turning them off. Is it possible for you to take a short vid of it?

A pair of good headphones? That's what I always use on my computer.

I need speakers cause I play Bad Company 2 with Teamspeak. The boxes are for the other sounds.

You should check out Edifier, they're a pretty awesome brand.

I was shortly before buying the "Edifier M3200 2.1" a while back, they look awesome. But there is not enough space for a subwoofer here.

Genelec's are professionals but you may want to go whit economy model "Truth B2030A"

IMO those B2030 are the best for close up listening and in reasonable price.

Thank you for your suggestion. I´m sure that they are great but the price is a way more I´m ready to spend.

I've never heard anything on the rare occasion I turn off the AV40s, it has a dedicated on/off switch in the back. The AV20 on the other hand has a pretty significant pop when you transition the volume knob to the off position but no other sound. I think those people got duds, just return if its like that.

Another good option are the Mackie MR5's, they are $270USD for a pair but they are true pro level reference monitors.

Congrats! One thing I did with mine is take out the stupid wire mesh in front of the woofer, its held in place with just a rubber ring. I used a paper clip with the end bent in to make a little hook, then kept going around the edge pulling it out little by little until it just popped off. Then I put the ring back into its place.

Oh I usually just have the voice mixed in with the other sounds on the headphones, especially since I want the game sounds decreased if I'm hearing someone else. Then again, I have a different setup, with a separate microphone that sits on top of the monitor.

Congrats on your new M-Audio equipment. Good brand.
