Hi,

so I have been wanting to take on this project for some time, and while I could figure it out I know there are more experienced people here and though I would ask.

I have an 1800w xenon short arc that I would like to make into a "flashlight", more like a spotlight and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a bulb?

the bulb would be free as I get them continuously when their waranty life expires. So yes they are used but still in great shape.

All I would ask is shipping and if price permits a maybe a driver or at least a schematic if you get it working.

its a Christie CDXL-18SD

-1800W
-75A
-26.5VDC
*large starting voltage required

CDXL-18SD Lamp

let me know if anyone is interested.

Hah, damn. If I wasn't in Aus I'd be ultra keen for one of these to play with, but shipping would kill it for me :(

What's the shipping cost to BC for one? :D P/C V7C 1HO

If I get it working I'll be sure to post the schematic here.

Hey, ARG. for some reason your postal code doesn't work on Canada post website but it appears you live in Richmond? I calculated shipping to there and it should only be $20

Hey lpstealth, I would be interested in a bulb if you still have one I could experiment with. All it would take to drive it is a small ignition coil starter circuit ~$20 and a small TIG/arc welder ~$100. I suppose the hard part would be building an appropriate spot light enclosure head around it, with a good reflector and all.

Hey yes i still have one. I have heard you can run these off a welder i just dont know how to integrate the high voltage and the low voltage.

Shipping to lincoln will be about 30 dollars. It's in a fair size box.

Do you have any more of these lamps? I have even better way of running these.
