Lmao avast has to be by far the worst Anit virus program I have ever heard off.... lol that's funny. My girl friend was running advast ( acutely how we meet) and was complain about how slow her laptop was going, somebody told her to install avg and she did found 5 different viruses, was still slow I got my hands on it installed malwarebytes got rid of 117 different cases of spyware and malware then placed Norton on it and got rid of 6 more Viruses and 3 Trojans,

I can understand why you say Norton is bad as pre 2009 stuff it was begin to lag allot of resources but with Norton 2009 dud this stuff fly's and my system is so much faster and safer

lol the attached picture is when i was ruining spy bot on here system and avast finely found 1 entry. But you know what in a way i want to thank Advast as if it wasn't for it i would have never meet my current girlfriend and also in a way i want to kill advast because if it wasn't for it i would have never meet my current girlfriend : )

Are we talking about the same thing? you keep referring to advast.. the software I'm talking about is called Avast and is very good.

You can read the review from here
Avast Antivirus 4.7 Home Edition Review - Security Software

here is a review that shows its goods and bads...
Reviews of avast! - Fileforum

And lastely this is where i get all my reviews from for software ect.. toptenreviews.com

AVAST! 2009 - TopTenREVIEWS

Just read this.. thats all you need to know

AVAST did receive the West Coast Labs Checkmark level 1 and 2 as well as the VB100%. However, AVAST wasn't as effective as some of the other products reviewed. For better virus protection, refer to some of our higher-ranked products.

Yes I realize its not 100% yet, but it is in the level 1 and 2 category which is just as good as nortons and kaspersky etc... maybe not better.. sorry, but IMO it is. From a factual standpoint they are basically the same, shown by the level 1 and 2 checkmark by the West Coast Labs, I probably should of said that IMO this is better then Nortans, kaspersky etc... not that it actually is better my bad!

Lol its cool whenever you talk about this stuff the debate always gets heated because everybody believes their software is the best even when it is relative the same : ) but with my personal experience I have found it to be inconclusive as a antivirus soft ware as from my post that Norton found more stuff then it did and was able to re pair more but then northing missed stuff that spybot and malware bytes got....
When it comes down to it though it's almost always about preference plus the avast stuff may be good now as the last time I messed with it was about 2 years old.

Avast works perfect for me. Compared to norton not one virus has entered my computer. Norton on the other hand has taken up more ram and has allowed a few viruses to leak in every so often even after updates.
Avast pro is the same thing. Its for businesses so its not completely free. They do get funding. I would trust it. Even for looking threw those ... ahem... mature websites :eg:

Too true.. compared to Nortons it is still a baby! It could of changed over the last 2 years, but from what I have seen, its worked brilliantly! I've had nortons for the last 4-5 years and I was so happy to get that off my pc... actually now I think about it, the only reason I ever tried it was because Nortons wasn't working with W7 LOL!!

But yeah, for a free software package with same ratings as Nortons I don't think I'll change till I see any more improvements in Nortons or till pigs fly... -Adrian

Some years ago I tried many of them and stopped my choice on NOD32. This is the fastest and less annoying antivirus software I've used and does its job well.

NOD32 is by far one of the best anti-virus you will ever get. Have it running on my system atm. It's compatible with the beta of Win7 but haven't heard anything about compatibility with the actual Win7 and there is nothing on their site about it.

Also, Norton isn't as bad as everyone thinks it is...you just have to have it running on the right settings.

Yes NOD32 is great too! But not compatible with W7 yet :( I had NOD32 ages ago... but it never told me what it was doing.. like if I try run a patch it would just delete the file, and I can't recover it , but this was ages ago and it has probably changed, When I had it, it only had 4 options, settings, vault (I think that's what its called), update and close LOL. But my grandfather uses it and ever since he installed it, he has never had a problem with his pc :D
