OK so I was watching Modern Marvels strange weapons Yesterday and they talked about lasers.

One in particular caught my interest. it was a 67 kilowatt solid state Laser and it starts talking about it at ~12 minutes into the video.

On YouTube you can just hit 8 to skip to near where it starts.

At 13:10 HOLY MOTHER OF ALL things epic O______O

Wonders of photons :p ,

I would guess looking at the solid state laser is all diode based and they are fibber coupled , Or its some epic knife edging xDD

It is a solid state laser, meaning gain medium is a solid. Apparently it uses 5 slabs of Nd:YAG

basic idea is the same as a green laser pointer, but without a KTP to double the frequency.

You can see all the diode bar stacks as the things with the wires and water hoses.

and if your hand was big enough, this could be hand-held. Looks like it runs off an external battery pack. Probably just a 3s2p pack

That was sweet. Just think if your laser budget was on par with the military? lol

That slime looks interesting too. Wonder what it is exactly. Would be awesome to coat a whole hillside with it and make a giant slip and slide. :D

Now, lean in really slowly with that cigarette in your mouth...slowly...slowly..

'Uh, anyone see where his head went?'

Most impressive indeed!
