Wow!

I work in 3DS max myself, a little.

This is very impressive. Model itself could use a bit more detail, but it's great, lighting set up very well and ... it's cool :D Desert Eagle cannot be not cool.

Anyhow, is it just me, or are you using Scanline render? I'd advise you to use Mental ray, apply more lights to the scene, and have the post process Glare effect enabled (in Render dialogs).

Here are some of mine renders if you happend to miss it:

This is my host design. I don't have a name for it yet. I was thinking something amonth the lines of "Phobos I":

This is some new experimental design I'm working on currently. You just might fint it for sale at Radiant in a month or so ;) I'd call this one "Deimos". Too dramatic perhaps?

Original base:

Bigger heatsink and driver room:

A focusing ring idea:

Half cut :

For two 16340 cells (twice more voltage) or one 18650 (more capacity) idea, just lenghtened the battery barrel a bit:

Tiny details are still being worked out...

What do you think so far?

oh my god... You are amazing i wish i could model like you. Im an amateur :( i can barely model >.> How did u make the floor so high res? when i make planes it turns out so blurry and when i try to tile it it just turns out to look like crap and the reflective effect is just amazing

yeah ill give mental ray a shot. Have you heard of vray renderer?

Vray is commercial only, if you use Demo version it leaves watermarks all over the rendered image.

Those models up there are actually very basic, simple. Much simpler than a gun. I don't think I could model a half-photorealistic pistol.

I can teach you no problems, if you wish.

Floor it one of premade textures that came in "Arch&Design" packets with my installation of 3DS max. It has many useful materials, like aluminium, brass, copper, zinc, anodized aluminium, stainless steel, some of which are displayed up there.
Also comes with variety of other materials one would find to be most used in modeling every day items.

I believe I can extract and upload the material databases for you if you wish.

I do have TeamViewer but unfortunately I also have very shitty connection to internet right now.

Don't worry, simple PM conversation will do fine. It's nothing complicated. Screenshot here and there when stuff gets iffy.

Ofcourse it's free. I always say that knowledge and information must always be free.

Shoot me a PM whenever you're ready.

Very nice guys. I've been using Cinema 4D for about a year now and over these last couple months I've been putting 3D text into videos of mine and tracking it all with Boujou. I'm going to take a crack at 3DS max today and see how well I can track some stuff. But you too both have some great renders!
