I've got to agree 16GB that's all you'd ever need in a flash drive  the price is very good too

wow, that is a nice chart!!! Where'd you get it?

Also, 16GB flash drive is cool, but so far I'm okay with my humble 1G stick :) Looking forward though when these will get cheaper (still remember when three years ago my 256M SD-card cost that much).

What sucks though is that Newegg doesn't ship international, maybe we could set up a "hub" somewhere here in the forum.

Even corsair doesn't recommend using those for backups, they can go out at any time.

Yep- thats true

But, as an alternative- I have software that will cache that drive and force your system to recognize it as RAM and use it as such, I run a 5gig Sandisc with this along with my 1gig dedicated and my machine just friggin rips.

Imagine 16gig of RAM :-?

USB is sloooooooow compared to the sort of speeds RAM should have.....
I absolutely refuse to get any USB bigger than an 8GB (big enough to hold a few decent games for school) on the grounds that its too slow for large amounts of data. I use a FireWire portable hard drive. It's worth the investment to be able to backup in 10 minutes, not 10 hours.

an italian magazine tested this usb flash driver, they putted it in a bottle and then in the freezer(-5°C) and the putted it in boiling water(100°C) and it was still working!!

Also putted under the wheel of a car and still works!!

And to think that in 2004 I bought a 1gb flash drive (which I thought was HUGE) for $70 and THAT was a good deal ;D

It's amazing how fast we're progressing with electronics and computers... just amazing how fast the internet has gone from a hobby of a few to a whole branch of society and a part of almost everybody's daily lives and soon (if not already ;D) an integral portion of many peoples' existence.

As for the 16gb drives, I've seen some low cost brands going for about $40 right now and better brands for ~$50. I'm still waiting on a 32gb one for that price point :)
