I'd focus more concern on Aussie Dan right now though because generally hurricanes wreak much more havoc than snowstorms...

Hopefully Dan (Things) made it through the storm OK.. saw pics and footage of the aftermath and it ain't pretty.

Hey guys. The last few hours as it was closing in on the coast did not look good, however in the last hour 2 it took a fairly sharp turn SW and crossed a fair bit further South of me (150km ish), so I avoided the eye luckily. Managed to make it through without loosing power OR internet (Although the power was continually flickering and dropping out. I stood out on the patio for majority of it, powerlines arcing everywhere, it was quite pretty up until 11:30.

By that point, the scariest wind gusts I've ever heard came rushing down the valley, so I headed inside. About 10 minute later, we got a wind gust that literally blew the front door in.

Luckily thats all the damage (Along with some fairly stripped trees) we got here. Internet went out Yesterday and only got it back an hour or so ago.

Probably is. They are around the Tully area. Between Cairns and Ingham. The last one is (whats left of) dunk island.

I went to dunk island about a year ago, I can't even recognize it by that picture, it was such a beautiful place!

Ouch.... Glad to hear you had only minimal damage Dan, especially after looking at those!

Glad to hear all is well with you Dan.. for the most part anyway. A damaged door is minimal compared to the scenes in those pics.
