Too be honest, I am really indifferent to the outcome of this situation, while some of wesdamans actions were definitely wrong and completely foul, I was not involved in them, therefore I think it should be the members who were directly affected by his actions who should be the ones to determine whether or not he should get accepted back, or perhaps a pole?

My main concern with wesdaman, is that he showed no intention of returning dave the parts which he had "taken". Then he started his own forum which was a failure if I had ever seen one, when that didn't work out, he slowly started realizing that perhaps this time the members of this forum will not let it slide.

Now he realized that the only way to "buy" his way back into the forum, was to do the right thing.

It was only when he realized that the privilege of posting on this forum far outweighs the value of parts (as opposed to doing the right thing in the first place), did he decide to return the parts to dave.

Thats just my two pennies...

The package from Wes arrived today. The laser was there and intact. In addition it looks like he picked up any little thing he had on the desk that was laser related and put it in there too In the package were:

the laser
an 803T sled with the diodes removed
an extra 9V battery
a disassembled module from a green pointer (no body)
a cat toy (no tips)
what may be the two diodes from the 803T sled (that look like they've been burned with something) I haven't tested to see if they are any good or not.
One diode that had been "punched" out of a module (and consequently caved in)

Peace,
dave

Yay, the world is saved! Now, the big question is should we let him back?
I don't know  :-/ :-/

That's what he is asking for.  He wants me to start a new thread to discuss this.  He wants to know what people are saying.  That tells me that he is either visiting the forum under another name or someone is "reporting" to him.  I think that this thread will do just fine.

I don't care one way or the other if he is allowed back into the forum.  His true nature has already been revealed.  I know I won't be doing any "business" with him.  If he is allowed back, I will warn others thinking about doing business with him to use a middle man.  If he just becomes verbally abusive, he can be banned again easily enough.

This is ultimately, Cold's call, but he usually listens to the members of the forum.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** I just realized that I think the forum is open. He doesn't need to be under an assumed name. He can just "lurk" can't he

What about a letter, with sincere apologizes? Has he even attempted to come clean, has he even attempted to show that he sent you that package because he now understands why, or is he like, "here's your freaken laser, now let me back on LPF! I even gave you extra stuff!"? Because if he's now starting to realize wtf he's doing, and wtf he needs to do to change, then perhaps letting him back would be honorable. But, if he's just trying to buy his way back in, and he still feels justified in all his bs, then heck no, IMO. Plus, I know he offended some people, but for their sake, they should forgive him IMO, but if it continues, then of coarse that guy needs to stfo.

He has been very respectful in his communication since he got back in touch with me.  However, the closest he's come to an apology is "Sorry you haven't received your laser yet."  to be fair, I haven't asked for an apology and I won't.  Apologies don't mean much from someone like him.  He may be able to be a "good" member of the forum, but as my earlier posting shows, I still don't consider him trustworthy.

I won't do business with him.  I'll warn NOOB's about him.  However, I don't care if he comes here to learn and share.  Sometimes people do learn from their mistakes.  Sometimes they don't.  Either way, the only way he can harm others is if they attempt to exchange value with him.  If he becomes "verbally" obnoxious banning is just a click of a key.

dave

I can smell this hypocrite a mile away... I don't need to be shafted more than once.

I personally have dealt with Wes and he is a weasel.... and like Dave says... I'll
warn anyone that wants to do business with him or if he puts something up
for sale that I become aware of.

I love one of his negative feedbacks on ebay...

Buyer leaves negative feedback for not receiving the item

Wes responds with something like "Dude I told you $26 was too cheap!!! They cost me $30 to make!!!"

So this guy won a talk box fair and square on ebay, but since the bid didn't go high enough Wes just didn't send it.... WOW.... thats just so ridiculous I cant even imagine someone doing it lol.....

They have options to set the 'starting bid' high enough so you dont get screwed when you list something on ebay... jeez....

I say let him come back. I cant stand the guy, like dave said I also think he has borderline personality disorder, and has screwed a few people. But, bluefusion has also screwed a lot of people and somehow he is still around. If anything, wes provides a bit of jerry springer-esque entertainment. C0ld can always kick him back out if he gets out of line  :p
