You can't search "chat". Let's keep everything in threads so they can be found. When chat was active the number of posts dropped. I vote for "no chat".

I think what decreased mainly was the ammount of noobs asking "where can I get a laser" and like this.

I realize that ancient thread necromancy causes some of you to get your panties in a bunch, but I feel that this one needs to see the light of day again.
This poll is tied and only has 12 votes.
I for one really enjoyed talking to you guys. It seemed like there was never a dull moment and the topics were very diverse... sometimes it was potty humor or drug policy, other times it was quantum physics or alternative energy. It was a great place for the NooBs to ask their usual repetitive questions :banghead:and an even better place to get a quick answer to some really difficult problem from one of the local gurus that undoubtedly was logged in.
I know that some of you absolutely HATED the chat, but I'm sure that there are others out there who, like me, would like to see it return.
Please take a moment to vote either way....

personally i enjoyed the chat box. but it bogged down the server too much.
if there is a way to get it back, i'm all for it. i enjoyed it alot.

Laserchat is fine and all, but it has never been as fun as the chat here on LPF. It is a fantastic place to go to really good answers to technical questions though. I guess we should send all the NooBs over there for help.:crackup:

thats b/c noobs were posting ?'s in the chatbox. i think its an annoyance and it causes to long of load times. voted no.

thats what moderators are for. since cold doesnt want them then its something we have to deal with. a rule for chatboxes on any other forum include a rule that says "do not post help questions in the chat box."...
on second thought lets send our "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON" troops in first to completely not help anything too while we're at it..

Wow! You really feel strongly about this. I think I understand why you feel it is important to keep every bit of potentially important information available for research. It would be unfortunate if something helpful was lost.
What if a "do not post help questions in the chat box" policy was put in place? Would ease your disdain for the chat-box?

~What is wrong with having people use the search function? That is how they should access all the fabulous information we have compiled. There really is no need for endless new Noob questions since most of their answers can be easily found in the stickys.
Being able to turn chat on or off is a very good idea. I hope that you would choose to chat, at least occasionally. You are a very funny guy and always have something interesting to say.
