I honestly don't think we will be able to live on the vbulletin forum for at least a week.  It is not impossible it could be sooner than that though.

One of the only frustrating issues will be that all users will need to change their passwords on the new VB system by using the 'forgot password' feature.  This is because vBulletin doesn't use the same password hashing method as yabb and it can't reverse the one way hash of a password to determine what the password would be.

Other than that I expect a smooth conversion.

Does it store emails the same way? If not, then we have a problem.

Hey Dave, not sure what you meant about dead wood

Rolf, I think banner size of 628 x 117 would be good, that is what we have now

Th0ughts, PMs should be imported without an issue. It does store email addresses the same way.

Sorry. It is a culturally specific expression. "Dead wood" refers to members who are no longer active (or even on) the net anymore. It is a throw back to the time when we had to keep members lists on paper (dead wood)

i don't know if is the right place to post, but i have trouble in:
- resetting my password (no mail received at my registered email address)
- no luck trying to connect using my username and known password from another computer
All i can do, is to post here my scream, maybe one of forum admin will reply. And yes, i can post because I'm still logged in from my laptop. And please reply here ...

This forum does not have an "admin". c0ld runs it greatly so we don't need one :) PM him if you need to get something done with your account.

hello c0ldshadow,

the answer to your question is no! I tried yesterday, also on Wednesday, at regular hours and i ca't login from another computer and cannot reset my password. all the time i am able to see: "an email has been sent to xxx@yyy.doom" but no message arrive there.

also, i want to mention that last Sunday, i tried to connect to lpf, exactly when site was in maintenance, because i didn't know that is in that state. because i can't login, i tryed to reset my password, received a confirmation link to my email address, hit on it, and after that i saw that site is in maintenance and give up. I really don't know if the password has been changed, but when i powered on my laptop, i saw that i am inside (already logged in) and haven't given importance. Few days later, from my office, i want to login to my account and i discovered that is impossible. My last chance was my laptop, which is still logged in...

can you help me please?
