I think the ability for the thread starter to lock their own thread would be a great addition to help prevent endless off-topic continuing rants. Not to mention after the poster feels like the question has been answered, he can lock.

If you weren't such a raging idiot you wouldn't have endless ranting in your threads and thus no need to lock them.

None of the 5 message boards I use on a weekly basis let users do that and they function perfectly fine. Isn't the purpose of a message board to promote discussion? Why stop the discussion?

Its just a nice option incase things start to go crazy and you would like to end the thread. It would be an option guys, not a mandatory thing. It was a suggestion.

And To pontiacg5, I dont see where you find excitement saying the things you do.

It is not the job of the OP to decide when the discussion is done or if it is getting problematic.

That's why you pay your mods the big bucks :tinfoil:

A quick request to a mod will generally get a thread locked if it looks "done." However, it is not automatic.

Peace,

Oh, it's quite exciting. It's like watching a blind guy run into a wall over and over. You think he would learn, but he doesn't.
I'm sure lots of other people find your threads at least mildly entertaining, I know I did.

You guys are like a group of bullies with your high post counts.
Instead of helping the blind man you just let him struggle. Thats the difference between you guys and me. I would go help the blind man.

This thread can be locked.

Ha,

You have a 2.6 posts per day average, I have 1.7. You post more than I do on average.

This thread can be locked.

You mean, it would be really convenient for you to be able to lock a tread that is not going your way?

Instead of stumbling around blindly, you should perhaps stop to wonder why you are one of the very few people here with such a need?

I resemble that remark.

I was a bully before I had a high post count.

This thread can be locked.

Every time I seen someone genuinely try to help you you have insulted and argued with them. That is why they screw with you.
