Hmm just noticed realy our 'level' system of post count names is rather dull :-? anybody think we should make up a new list of names for post counts? id like to see a theme about lasers or something about steve.. ;D

I think we also need to make some more ranks at like 1000 posts and maybe some after that. Now that I'm level 5 I need something to work up to!

I'd say this is a good idea, buuuuuuuut. As this is an impartial forum it would be missleading to have laser names instead of post counts. Maybe do it in power terms. 500 posts would be half a watt or something, i've not put much thought into it, but to keep the forums fair it would be best not to do it. unless you can choose which high powerd laser you want to be, as many companys have lasers of the samepower or there abouts.

ps: i have no idea how timelord got hold of my pic, but maybe i should stop braiding my chest hair

lol i dont mean get rid of the post count that would be wierd! ;D the 'lv' names we have can be replaced with something more 'fun'

hey guys, this is def a good idea

sorry i didnt respond sooner, i was away for a few days

welcoming new suggestions for the level system, please let me know ideas. the mw power thing sounds good but lets keep thinking maybe we can find some other cool ideas too

Not worth going lower than mW IMO...
Start at say... 1mw, 5mw, 10, 30, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1W, 2W, 4W and for the mods....
Laser-that-burns-a-hole-in-the-moon XD

ok ok heres my idea

1-5=Leadlight 5mw
6-25= Pot Moded 30mw
26-50=X series 85mw
51-100=Alpha 105mw
101-250=PPL 165mw
251-500= NOVA 250mw
500-1000=RPL 325mw!
1000+ =Class IV Hercules!!!

well have to see if all laserglow nova and optotronics will let us use there product names though  

heres what we currently have at the moment:

Lv 1 = 0-50
Lv 2 = 51-100
Lv 3 =101-250
Lv 4 =251-499
Lv 5 =500+

personally i like this idea more than mW, because its more original. i remember some other laser forums using mw in the past for ranks

Hey - aren't there some NEW classifications that were "recently" announced ? If someone has a link to that, it would give more "level" options !
