hey everyone

if you get a blocked by firehost issue while using LPF,

please do the following:

1) copy and paste the exact error message you got (or screenshot it)
2) tell what u were trying to do
3) email block.requests@firehost.com and alicia.smith@firehost.com and CC avery.a.tarasov@securityengineer.pro com w/ the data from #2 and #1 above

this is the most efficient method of handling these issues.

given that i work in the information security field, and that i greatly value the security of LPF, LPF uses firehost for enhancing the Web sites security against hacks, distributed denial of service attacks, etc. kevin mitnick uses firehost=) Security and convenience usually don't go hand in hand (that is the price u pay for great security sometimes), but sorry about some of these false positive blocks on occasion. firehost and i are continually working to reduce false positive in the threat detection rules

enjoy the forum and have fun

Haven't had a single one today...

Jerry

shots and a description of what caused the latest PM block
and how I bypassed the block to be able t6o send the PM.

thx jerry, looks like chris H at firehost solved this one. please advise if it worked

Won't let me edit information to a post...

I emailed a snap shot of the error page and copied it to you as well Avery...

firehost is investigating it still

i have a ticket opened with them and sent the screenshot u sent

Ok thanks Avery...

Seems that if I only edit a little information, it will work. But cannot edit normally...

sorry for inconvenience. i would advise removing formatting in the post (e.g. smileys, vbulletin code) as that is likely what trigger the false positive.

firehost is still looking into it

take care man

this should be resolved now, Jay

worked with the security engineering lead at firehost and the problem with editing posts should be gone now. hopefully this is permanent fix
