Minor Forum "Glitch": Veteran Threads Visible to All

I noticed a glitch in the forum, if you look down into "Latest Posts" section on the very bottom of the front page, latest posts in the Veterans section (which is only accessible by veterans, with a password) are visible right alongside posts in the regular sections. The actual posts are not visible, however the poster/thread-title/posts-in-that-thread are visible to all. I know certain discussions are meant only for Veterans to know about and participate in, and am just trying to point this out so that it could be dealt with if C0ld feels it is necessary or important.

Feel free to delete/close/move this thread in a heartbeat if it becomes solved, is deemed unimportant, or should be kept in secrecy until it is dealt with.

yeah its a known bug in the plugin for that feature (this is not standard vbulletin code, its a mod)

its prob a simple fix but ive honestly been too lazy to dig thru the php to do a manual fix. i did contact the developer but no response. i am going to send a donation to them to encourage them to update the code, its prob an easy fix

I am not sure if this is the same issue, but here is something that I stumbled across a while ago and did not know if it would help or not (It is a bit outdated).

(The following is taken from: Moderator post showing up on Recent Threads!?!)

Moderator post showing up on Recent Threads!?
Going a bit crazy here on this one! Has gotten to the point that I can’t even seem to back track the settings I made any longer.
I have a MODERATOR BOARD on the Forum page and managed to make it invisible except to moderators and of course me.
The problem is this. I have the site closed as it’s not quite finished yet but I open it up to one member to help me with some tests.
I made a post on the moderator board and noticed that the post ended up showing on the Recent Threads module on the Homepage! I thought that perhaps only I could see it but my friend who is not moderator could see it also.
Even though I have implemented the Moderator board as being pass word safe I still do not wish any threads/posts that are made on it to show up on the Recent Threads module. Exactly where and how do I make the correct setting so that posts made on the moderator board do not show up on the Recent Threads module?

Regards, Phil

That is due to whatever script you are using. We cannot help with custom scripts but you can try asking for help with this over at vBulletin.org Forum - The Official vBulletin Resource!.

Found the answer on my own. It was just a simple setting on vBa CMPS with editing the Recent Threads module.

and another thread.... (from: vBa CMPS shows threads in hidden forum - vBadvanced Forums)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I have a hidden forum for the moderators to discuss things privately, yet CMPS lists the threads and even quotes some of the text from the thread in the alt pop-up.

Can this be avoided?

Thanks,

Ian

it only lists the threads if you have permission to view them

Yep - sorted it; the default was to list everything.

Ian

I hope that helps at least a little bit. You might already know this, but I figured I would make sure this was checked already.

Well good thing nobody started a thread in there by the title "Just reminder that the password to the Vets section is xxxxxx" :p
