Hey guys, I was thinking of an idea for the forum.

On the main forum page, I could put a drop down menu box and the menu could contain links to laser web pages that other members on the forum have. each person could chose the text for their site in the menu. members would be asked to link back to the forum on their laser related web page if they want their link added to the drop down list.

i think this would be a cool way for members of the forum to get more exposure to their personal laser sites, and at the same time spread the word about LPF.

the menu would be small and not interfere with the display/looks of the forum

if you guys think this is a good idea let me know

hello friends


i have tried implementing this idea on the dark_shadows template of the forum .. it was suprisingly difficult to figure out how to make the javascript work so when you click the 'go!' button the member pages open in new windows, but i finally got it to work

i started adding some links to the list of member who have laser related sites.

its 3:41am here im going to back up the forum and go to sleep i think

plz lemme kno if you find any bugs with the link thing, my javascript is a little rusty heh.

i haven't a clue... the only thing on the page is a bit of text, a link to my homepage, a link to the W3C validator, and an open source java chat app, and open source can't exactly have spyware in because people can read the code and see... if you really want to join you could try xchat (there's instructions on the chat thread) :)

I find that making a forum for info is better than a webpage, 1 because it's easier (for me) and 2, people can comment on stuff, so i just have a forum :D it is: lasers.999.org . i'll ad the LPF link to my site now ;) ;)
