I believe you are correct livinloud, the default is the darkshadow. It was like that back when I joined too. Some people prefer the white though, but I think it is often forgot about.

It was dark shadow when I joined, never bothered to change it. It's easy on the eye.

i think the "default" is too harsh on the eyes. we all spend too much time on this site (well i do :p) and i could NEVER take looking at a white screen all day. my eyes would be toast!

IIRC we used to have more than 2 styles way back
when.
As was stated above.. Darkshadows V5 is easy on
the eyes.

Jerry, i feel like there were even 3 styles recently. i remember or might just be crazy, 3 styles not that long ago and now there are just two?

Stin, IMO if people want to use the "default" style then they are begging for murder of their eyes so thus they should deal with the white logo on white background. its just making them work harder to read it ;)

Meatball said that he uses the white theme. I think you're missing something because I am designing for both the white and dark shadow theme. They can be different images. So one does not affect the offer. So I don't see the problem.

if they can be installed into the themes separately then i missed that part. for some odd reason i was thinking that what was in the darkshadow theme was automatically in the default but i know this to be wrong since the default is completely different. i love when my brain knows A and B but doesnt put them together to get C.......darn you brain!!!!!

I've been using the white theme since I've been here. Its actually more of a light blue though.

Its not because its "brighter", but because tt has far less contrast, so there are no bright surprises when browsing the photos at night. The decreased contrast also keeps brightly colored objects (white lettering, photos) from burning images into my retinas by the time I scroll down - I don't get the white letters "ghosting" into the black background of my sight when I look into the background.

That's why I use the lighter theme - don't know why I would be the only one using it. Its a very clean appearance after all. I recommend people try for a couple days if you haven't already.
