Like to see an OPTICS section started

Dave makes some very good points.

I've voted to combine the colours and make space for a dedicated Optics section. It'll be more "scientific" then...

Exactly - I've had optics questions but haven't really felt like any of the subdivisions would be the place for it to really get seen. And my questions are usually things about beam splitter/combiners NOT related to shows - technical things about polarization, scattering, alignment, etc., that MIGHT get answered in one area by someone, but not everyone here who has optical knowledge might be interested in that particular section, and if they don't check before the post disappears on the "most recent" list - the post fades into oblivion without being seen by the person who might have the answer...

So.... that's why I asked to begin with!
