inconsistent censoring here on LPF

guys, regarding the censoring of certain words, one of LPFs ad networks required me to do it. some advertisers dont want their ads on pages with specific words

this site depends on ads to pay for costs associates with the site

i personally agree its silly to have to do this but have no choice

Thank you kindly for explaining why the strange irrational standard is in place. Its fully understandable why this is implemented as like you say, LPF gotta pay the bills. This pretty much answers my questions and I think I know why these words and spa-ge-tti is such a threat to the sponsor.

Good old character map. Just in case a few don't know, you can access it under Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character map

Is that on this forum or is that within our computers? No idea what a character map is myself or if I need one

I'm all for censoring words to keep the place cleaner but this one "D U M P" really threw me when in a discussion in a thread about creating beam ones!

I would think a term that is typically used in the world of lasers would not be censored, especially as others have pointed out how worse words that wouldn't be used normally within the hobby (such as calling it a "beam shit" instead) are possible!

d u /\/\ p is associated with illegal activity like credit c4rd d u /\/\ pz

spammers post about this stuff.... then advertising networks automatically crawl LPF and get mad about it. really annoying issue so i put the filter

trust me there is always a reason for all of these filters...
