The other option is to find out where they live and pay them a visit.
I personally don't deal with many people that I can't put a boot to....
That is the main problem with the interwebz, if you get too excited about it you will be constantly pissed off because there is zero accountability.
Don't worry about the small stuff, life's too short.

I'm not excited, or worried by any means. It is just so ridiculous how the "vets" on here can do anything they want, but the newbies get punished for anything.

Take the new language rule. I've looked at a few threads recently where some loser drops the F bomb and every other word in the book, every time he posts, cussing 100 times. If a new member did the same thing, made the same type of posts, he would get negative repped and booted out of here quicker than spit.

Please report the problematic posts. We cannot be everywhere all the time.

And yes. Vets do get a bit more lateral space than non-vets

That's sometimes true but if the coworker that has been around for 10 years (and everyone likes) swears it is a bit different than if the new employee curses a blue streak.
Tenure is the way the world generally works.
Most vets on this forum are pretty good though, I have only seen a few of them swear and it is usually the less intelligent ones that don't have the vocabulary to describe what they actually mean.
I know I only swear when I am riled up and try to never swear around women (respect) but I fall down on that occasionally.
Really, how much can it matter when they can drop the F-bomb on TV without repercussion....

Well, since offensive language/cussing is now supposed to be crossing the line, I figure the 5 i just reported are well within reason.

We moderate the vets section differently than we do open forum.

My uncle scratches his arse at the dinner table. We accept him anyway.

If someone from outside of the family scratched their arse at the table, they would not get a return invitation.

Peace,
dave

Dude, you complain about the vets harrasing people. You harrass people all the time! You complain about people giving you neg reps, you have never had a neg rep that was not deleted! You either do it yourself or start crying to Avery. Seriously before you joined this forum and made vet status (in record breaking time btw...)
this place was awesome.
I would do what your doing and report every one of your pointless, bashing posts, but i cant because you got neg repped on all of them and deleted them.

As far as Trolling goes if You don't respect the Troll'er then what ever they say has no merit in my opinion.

Reminds me of what McCoy said in Fridays Child:

What the Klingon has said is unimportant and we do not hear his words.
[whispering to Kirk] I just called the Klingon a liar. :na:

I resemble that remark. :yh:

I never use ignore. I know I may look like I'm huffing and puffing sometimes but no one gets me mad enough to use ignore. Plus its the internet. I know that saying is cliche, but its true. But dont let some faceless person, that you'll probably never meet, make you mad enough to freak out. Its silly. If you're that freaked out then do what Dave said, go fishing, take a break, because you're over reacting.

We are mostly men, so there will always be pissing matches. So keep this in mind too. The best way to win a piss match is to walk away. This always makes the other person even more mad, while you're laughing. I know, I do it all the time. :eg:
