Unfortunately my very crappy computer has finally died. So basically I am down to using my iPhone for going on the forum for at least a couple days until I can get a new one.




EDIT (Sept 1st):

Well I'm back! :D I got my PC parts today and assembled it, amazingly without an mishaps, so now I can return to the forum more regularly.

It gives me three beeps at startup (one short, two long) and nothing appears on the screen. It's a Compaq EVO low profile desktop. Pentium IV 1.7 GHz, 2GB RAM, with the stock 16MB AGP video card. :(

Or PSU, Or Mobo, you can"t really tell wich specific part is defective without having replacement parts.

He got a specific error code beep. That beep pattern is associated with faulty video device.

Yeah, it makes the same beeps even with the video card removed. :(

Hmm, the beeping might be because the pc is just not detecting it at all now. You wouldn't happen to have a spare or another pc u can swap with?

If you need any help, Ottawa's only about a 5 hour drive away for me. I could take a look at the machine sometime soon, although I don't know that I could do it this week. There's a nice computer store which has two retail locations in Ottawa, called Canada Computers. You can get a good price on new parts there.

I think I'll just buy a new PC, this one was slow and laggy and couldn't do half the things I wanted anyway. It had some serious issues before this, this exact problem occured last year, but cured itself after a few hours, there was long some graphics issues and it would barely play even the lowest quality YouTube videos without skipping frames. I'll just use the money I was saving for an RPL on getting a nice new PC.

If you want the best and can afford it go for Alienware, I have the laptop and it is amazing. 30FPS on MW2 with everything maxed, in battery saver mode! around 95 in "normal" mode. Tis awesome! It's played every game I've tried, all settings maxed, beautifully

I would love to have the M15x or M17x and play MAFIAII with full details!!
I´m not up-to-date with the current state-of-the-art, but I don´t think that you woulb cash much less for a non Alienware-product with this hardware inside.
