forum discount??

Since this forum has codes for LPF members to use when buying lasers, like the mova one is warp5 or something, i was wondering, what stops any regular person that is not even a member from going and using that code?? i have seen on other forums, you have to be logged in to see those threads, so non registered members can't just see the code and use it?? just a little suggestion?

I thought you had to include your LPF Username. But I too think locking several boards is something worth considering.

That IS understandable to a point....this forum has been great for some lurkers that would not want to be bothered to register (for some reason) most likely the same reason why I cannot be bothered to request my password from another forum I belong to - I do not see the value in a forum that is locked down for all but members. That is just my $.02 (u.s.)

I'm torn, I Really like that this forum is wide open even for those who don't register. But OTOH I think one or two boards could be locked down for member only GBs, discounts, and BST.

Shhh, I'm going to the extreme in another thread because I like being the devil's advocate sometimes, as it can do a good job of opening up a discussion to see how people really feel about something.

This is a good question. I have seen people give the code to people asking about lasers who only have 1-5 posts. I highly doubt that Nova is checking every user to see if they are a member either. Maybe merit system?

Well, Nova did not really put any kind of restrictions on the code - they have given out discount codes to other forums as well - so I am not really too sure how this would work ! I undestand what you all are saying though.

Well I know with "Another Laser Forum" : they were given a code from Nova but it was different one for 5% off. They probably use different codes to try and "track" where the purchases are coming from.
