I'm seeing lots of people either selling or buying lasers but they can't PM because they don't have enough posts.

This is bad for laser business. I reckon we should either drop the PM rule or make it so you only have to make 1-2 posts before you can start to PM.

I say drop it to 1 post, spamming is no longer a problem so in the case a spammer gets through, it would have to post before PMing which VERY is unlikely.

I say 5 posts...just to spite you guys...hehe

I think the way it is now I quite alright, I mean all it takes is a bit of forum reading and a couple of posts, 10 isnt too much...

I hate the Pm's I get on the other forums I am part of, half are for viagra, half for missing children donations, I cant even locate or reply to the actual pm's I am getting...

On the other hand, maybe all you sellers (the ones that want ) could have messages enabled, while us regular users would still have the 10 post rule?

I wouldn't abolish the 10 post rule for the sole reason being we would start receiving Spam-PM's from businesses, plus the occasional juvenile who discovers a free spam bot and finds it funny flooding PHP PM in boxes with links to "shock sites".
A modification to the system might be nice to the new users, and as Brtaman has suggested, 5 post would be sufficient.

Change has already been done guys, no posts needed to PM :)

I think that's fine. Really, 10 posts isn't much for a bot, so it doesn't offer much protection. And if it does happen, it's what, 1 second of your time to ignore and delete?

So far it hasn't happened, if it does we can reconsider.
