how is this the wrong thread?

You did something wrong, and you came here to share or "admit" you did it. Perfectly fine. Btw dude that really sucks... more lasers should come with reverse polarity protection :(

peace & thanks

I did something wrong today, there was a at teacher at my school who was grading papers, as i watched from my table i saw she was just writing numbers on the papers as a grade and not reading them at all. i walked over and asked her "isn't that unfair that they take the time to write that and you don't even read them". well i said it loud enough that that alot of people could hear, and one of her students was all in the library and over heard my statement. it was wrong of me to say so loud, because after, her student came up to me and said thanks, would it be ok if you come with me to tell the department head you saw her doing this, because we have complained and they have not done anything because they cannot prove it.

So Spark notes - Saw teacher not doing job
- called her out
- went to department head and told him and signed papers
- shes most likely getting fired.

i was wrong to call a teacher out. but i think it was for the good.

Haha whether it was wrong or not, Totally awesome man! But then again what Dave said...

I don't know what country you are from, but your lack of knowledge about how The Academy works is epic. I wouldn't worry too much about the teacher. Your report and "signed paper" will result in nothing.

If y'all watched me grading outlines, you would have no idea what I was doing.

Peace,
dave

I don´t have to know much about the academy, I just have to open my eyes. I was long enough at school in Austria to see the lack in the marking system. ;)

As I said, if you watched me grading papers, you would not have any idea what I was doing. It might, indeed, look to you, as if I was not even reading them.

With printed text, I read, on average, one paragraph (5-7 sentences) at a glance. With handwritten text, I read about two lines at a time. Unless there is something wrong with the syntax that requires me to pause to parse a particularly incoherent sentence, my eye "appears" to just drift over the page.

Often it doesn't even require that much effort on my part. I simply have to look for the inclusion of certain key words or phrases in a paragraph to evaluate it. I do not need to "read" the paragraph. I only need to recognize the the inclusion or absence of said "keys."

I am NOT defending poor instructors. They most certainly do exist.

I am only pointing out that his "report and signing a paper" will not result in any action (unless there are other mitigating circumstances present).

His "fears" are simply delusions of grandeur.

Peace,
dave

Every once in a while, I give a student an undeserved "C" (instead of the "D" that they earned) just to prevent them from taking my class again.

Peace,
dave

I made the mistake of funding a forum that offers neither security, neutrality, nor common sense. That wont happen again. I also made the mistake of helping a member through bad times that didnt have the respect to return the favor.

Wrong thread TJ. Get over yourself.

I recently made the mistake of selling a laser to a member, then dropping it on the floor before packaging it.. Sorry for the waiting time :(

He only made that post to bash Avery, Simon and Kenom.
This thread is clearly about admitting you did something wrong to say sorry and get forum issues resolved, not to whine because you feel like you have been treated badly.
