Hi folks I have been thinking,

Ave, I think it would be really really good if the |last post / posts / viewed|

Would be removed and replaced by |last post |last post |last post|

As in newest to 3rd oldest, It would help popularity of certain threads, where I'd say, IgorT would post some good 12x plots, but someone else would post a nice thread which would go unnoticed and burried.

Having last three posts instead of only one would be terrific I think.
Anyone else here with me?

I'd make a nice preview but I do not have anything handy exept MS paint here, could somebody visualize it?

I have asked about the "unread post" plug in from VB before to Ave.

rather than 5 pages of "today's posts" it displays all activity that the user has not yet read.

That would be a lot of posts wouldn't it?
I mean in theory it could be a good idea, but seeing something like "Unread posts: 105" could get sort of frustrating.

Hey, what about my suggestion?

Instead of Thread and View number (which are pretty much useless), we should add two more recent posted threads.

It took me almost 2 years to learn the workings of the Forum...
I like it the way it is...
The latest and most popular threads are always at the top..
and when I find a Jewel of a Thread I bookmark it in FF for
quick reference...

That is one helluva bookmarks tab.

I mean, when you are viewing the index, the home page, whatever you call it, right of the section name there is latest post and posts/views number, which is meaningless IMO.

We should make that three last posts.
Get it?

Wouldn't that make the home page significantly larger? I don't know where the todays posts come into it but I like it the way it is, that's mainly the only thing I use to see what threads are of interest, I don't tend to use the index page at all.

No it would not, it would simply replace the Views/threads number, so it would stay the same.

How come nobody here gets what I am saying?
I need to ask my friend to photoshop something for me, so I can show you guys what am I yapping about here.

Yea a photoshop image would help, if I understood a little better I could put something together for you quickly.

Maybe you're not explaining it in a way we can understand...:D

I always use the [Quick Links] Button and then click the [Today's Posts]
button... and I use my Bookmarked Jewels when I need them..
That works just fine for me....

BTW.... I never use the "|last post / posts / viewed|" that you
are referring to... don't need it...

Well I do, I rarely open the subsection itself, I only browse the index looking at Last Post info.

Yeah, I know I am not good at explaining things, Asherz is helping me out here, he should turn up with an image to illustrate what I am saying.

Hi,

I think this is what you mean, although realistically I think two recent posts would be better.

Personally I would still prefer the Today's posts section :) Still this idea could work.

Sorry about the image size, also please note these are just dummy examples.

I just set the "today's posts" as my "home page" on firefox, so as soon as I launch FF it just displays the most current activity.

Asherz, that is what I meant yeah (not three same posts, but three most recent ones... you know)

Photo, I simply browse the home of LPF itself, and see the latest posts on subsections. Having three could make it more difficult for most people to have some good threads slip by them. IMHO, ofcourse.
