hey all well its been a long haul to get thru all the legal aspects of it but i am proud to finally announce we have a moderator back -- Simon

Simon originally helped w/ moderating duties on the old YaBB forum (prior to vBulletin). He did a great job and I'm sure will do a great job again.

To start off I am just going to have him for a mod to do testing/etc. In the future we could add more mods but I want to start off simple. We could possibly have more mods in a week or so but for now just start simple.

Uhm cold, what does the intellectual property rights mean to those that have created products here that belong to us, and well as the b/s/t section that clearly violates the term of use as far as solicitation?

Just curious.

@Kenom i gotta ask the lawyer about that one but basically


The idea is that once you post content on the forum, you are granting the forum a license to use that
content, as stated in clause #9. This is similar to terms of use for other forum/social media sites,
such as youtube. The lawyer explained this is necessary for a bunch of reasons, including if the
ownership of the forum ever is transferred. In terms of buy/sell/trade, the b/s/t would be an area where commercial communication is approved by LPF. In general, if I see a post which is objectionable, the owner will be notified.
If you have further questions, I will be happy to get back to you, but the website lawyer is on
vacation until after the holidays, so there may be a delay.

Huge thanks Avery for having me back as a mod. Been so long since I last moderated here, especially cause we used Yabb back when I used to moderate it's gonna take me a bit to learn the much more advanced vBulliten forum style. Just glad that I can be of service to the forum and maybe help cut down on the flamewars and trollfests at the same time lol

Congratulations. Excellent choice.

With a mod or two, many of the trollfests will be unecessary.

Good point tech, was going to ask Avery about that. Avery- would it be better if I stopped the DX shipping service or let someone else take it over? Tell me what you think and I'll stop it or pass the torch if you think that's best. Last thing I want is for that to cause problems forthe forum.

As one who quite routinely delevops products for market, then allows individuals to build them license and royalty-free for personal use only, I cannot allow my intellectual property to become the intellectual property of others. I have removed my posts that contained or discussed intellectual property of mine that was posted prior to this change in terms of service. I request that all of my quoted information in replies to any of those posts of mine be removed as well. I am sorry, but I cannot compromise my ownership rights to any intellectual property that I may have shared here in the past. Since I do not agree with these terms of use, I will refrain from further use of this forum.
