I just thought maybe it should be brought to attention that there are 10,881 of our total 22,334 members here that have ZERO posts. I thought it would be a cool idea to, say, send out a mass PM to all members that must be replied to in an alotted time (2 months or so to be reasonable) or their account will be deleted. Also maybe give a warning on a thread beforehand so people are aware of when it will be going on. Just an idea to help filter out some of the useless data laying on the site.
Thanks for looking

Interesting idea. I personally don't see removing them because they are useless data to be necessary, because I personally dont look through the member list, but after thinking about it, I believe based on past BS&T threads (example: http://laserpointerforums.com/f63/bhwollen-negative-transaction-64790-4.html#post954476, go to the OP to see the user, he only posted once), we have realized that some of those members are here to purchase cheap items via PM and participate in GBs.

Some don't object to users doing this, under the logic that it is like getting free information from the forum (which you don't even need an account to do.)

Personally, when I sell an item here, knowing I could get more for it on eBay, I am selling it here because the people here are nice, and have helped me a lot.

I like this idea.

I don't see a problem with them; unless someone wants a user name that has been taken.

Many of them just buy one laser via PM's and are never seen again.

What does it hurt to leave them there?

Good points Jacob and Arg. I suppose if they just pop in, "contribute" by buying something from someone, and then leave it does become somewhat useful. But seriously, almost 11,000 people without a single post? Seems like a lot of dead weight to me

I don't see a problem... If they didn't post anything then they
couldn't have added any useless data and it doesn't clutter the
Forum posts.

But I know what you are saying... That is why I ask for at least
one post by anyone buying from us to be eligible for the discount
prices on the Forum.

BTW.. it is easy to use the [Edit] button to combine or edit 2 posts
within a short time rather than Double Posting which is frowned
upon on by the Forum community...;)

Yeah I dunno.. one of the things that always annoyed me about some of the PL crowd was their insistance that members should have to donate to the admin or post some sort of amazing posts in order to utilize the site fully, as in accessing certain deals and discounts, or in a particularly incidious case it was suggested that people should have to jump through certain hoops to access vital laser show safety information and tips. Personally I value freedom of information and I absolutely despise exclusivity and the idea of "old boys clubs" so I would champion for the idea that there should be no restrictions on membership here on LPF, and the only exclusive group I would support is the vets section because anyone can and will become a "vet" when their post count reaches a certain level.

Sorry about that, I'm well aware, I just tend to blatantly post sometimes when I drink :shhh:
Corrected!
