what do u think is the proper price? i had previously posted a thread announcing $12.99 and it was clear that people think that is too high.

in my shoes, the app costs ~$200/year just for licensing stuff. and 3x more important than that, it takes at least 72hours of maintenance a month. that was main reason for me making the price high.. it honestly does take a lot of effort , especially the iphone version, to resign , recompile, and get approved by apple. it is very tedious.

the android app is free w/ ads b/c it takes much less effort to maintain than iphone version

please try and put yourself in my shoes when answering, but also thinking of what u honestly think is the best fair price.

thx for feedback

Well, I would not pay 13$ for it, i'd rather suffer with Safari, I understand that you want to make your money back on this, but 13$ is way to much... I would pay 5-8$ for it Maybe even up to 10$. I really like the app and all, but it's just not worth 13$ to me.

You mat not like my answer to this question, but I'm going to have a hard time paying more then then the most trivial amount for the app.

Why do I say that? Well to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I can justify spending money on an app, that I am not confident that you are going to continue to support. I think you've made it pretty clear that this app is a bunch of work and money for you.

Can you say for certain if someone purchases this for $12.99 that you are going to continue to support it long term, or offer refunds?

I really like the app, it's so much better then using Safari, but it does have some bugs still. (Not your fault, I know)

You've also changed your model several times already. First it was free, then it was paid, then it went free again.

Now as I understand it, you are going to release it again with a different app id, so that upgrades for those that got it free won't be offered and we will have to all pay to use it at all? (Is that actually correct? I may have misunderstood a previous post.)

At this point I would much rather see a more mobile friendly version of the site OR get vBulletin to support Apple's subscription model so we can pay a modest monthly fee. That way there would be no hard feelings if you do decide to discontinue it in the future.

I certainly don't want this post to come off as hostile. I appreciate what you are trying to do here, but on some level it's looks nearly the same as a seller that comes into the B/S/T section, accepts an offer for an item, and then keeps changing his mind and asking for more money.

Sorry, but just my 2 cents on the subject. Maybe I shouldn't be posting under the influence of pain meds though. :D

thx for feedback, yah i realize i have flip-flopped on decisions for it a lot. the reason for that is largely b/c bugs in the mobile app with the ads making it hard to gauge their true value, so i kept going back and forth when their was adwhirl bugs preventing it from working

if for some reason this one gets unsupported in the future i can offer refund for it.

i need to go to sleep soon , going to set the price at $6.99

have you ever heard of "tapatalk"?
its a forum browsing app that i use to browse some of my other forums i go to
im not sure how the set-up and fees go but i think it would be easier to maintain than an individual app
not sure if i helped but its good to know..

and also, you should have a "free" verion on the ipod with ads
and a "pro" version that cost money and has no ads
(or would that be too much to maintain?)

it appears some users not willing to pay for the app. and i want all LPF users to be able to use it. so what im doing is making the iphone version free but increasing donation goal $20/month to offset the $200/year cost i have associated with the app.

regarding tapatalk, i investigated it, but it had a history of poor security, one flaw allowing passwords of users to be dumped.

enjoy the forum and app
