I listen to a fairly wide variety of (American) music styles, but mostly these (in order of preference)

Jazz, EDM (trance), Christian, Top 40 / Pop, Broadway Show Tunes

Btw, speaking of Lindsey Sterling, did you guys see this new vid from her yet? Kind of cool, and definitely different. My teenage kids love this video lol.

The music industry deaths this month are terrible, I am surprised no one has said anything, so I guess I will.

It wasn't just David Bowie, who I posted about on the previous page, he passed away Jan 10 from cancer at the age of 69.

Eight days later Glen Frey on Jan 18, Cause of death: rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, Age: 67.

That video reminds me why I didn't like NYC, but who makes music like that?

Then there was Paul Kantner, of Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship, Died: Jan 28, Cause of death: multiple organ failure, Age: 74

There were also several others this month (January 2016) including:

Mic Gillette of Tower of Power, Died: Jan. 17, Cause of death: heart attack, Age: 64. An original member of TOP, he also performed with Sons of Champlin, the Doobie Brothers, Santana and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Dale Griffin, drummer for Mott the Hoople, Died: Jan. 17, Cause of death: Alzheimer's, Age: 67, he played on "All the Young Dudes," MTH's 1972 hit, written by David Bowie.

Gary Loizzo, of The American Breed, Died: Jan. 16, Cause of death: pancreatic cancer, Age: 70, Their biggest hit, "Bend Me, Shape Me," peaked at No. 5 in 1968. He went on to become a producer and engineer for Styx.

Giorgio Gomelsky - Jan. 13, former manager of the Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds; suffered from cancer; was 82.
Giorgio Gomelsky, Ex-Yardbirds and Rolling Stones Manager, Dies

And there were several others lesser known.

Not looking good for the 64 to 75 year range of age.... I'm just a few years away from getting into the start of that range, but the way this world is going with government, except for those who care about me and I care for who would be left behind, not such a bad deal. I feel sorry for the future of young Americans now, it isn't looking so good.

I've posted before what I like, Enya, Loreena McKennitt and the like are some of my favorites, thought I'd better add that to be legit to posting in this thread again.

Kennedy, just his name makes me mad, and people have learned nothing.
Sanders, Clinton, a socialist by any other name is still an elitist scumbag mascaraing.

This helps me wake up in the morning.

@ LaserChick

I agree on that, but it won't let me rep anyone but new people?

Saw her in Victoria B.C. in 2011. Her vocals were astounding.

Both ends of the spectrum by Maria Brink

Interesting songs and group. One of my favorites back in high school was Stranglehold which was released 2 years before Maria Brink was born yet when I listened to Big Bad Wolf above it reminded of back then. I still turn it up when I hear that (and I can still hear pretty good). Wikipedia classifies "Stranglehold" as hard rock and heavy metal. We called it :banghead: music.

I really like when hard rock/metal bands slow it down and do ballads, unplugged, or acoustic versions. A favorite is "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica.

Today I heard a pretty good rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" that I've never heard before (voice kinda sounded like Ozzie but I doubt it was him). Will have to look up the radio station's playlist tomorrow. So here's Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" which was released in 1969 for the nostalgic junkies ... and for me to go back to this thread and be able to click on each one from time to time ... :yh:
