I just delete it. It is not worth one more calorie of my energy than to just click "delete." Anything else is a waste of my time and effort.

I don't get angry. I don't feel violate. I am not frustrated. I don't need to get back at them. I don't need to prove that they are bad humans. I don't need to even think about it. I just delete it.

I use multiple levels of SPAM protection, but if it gets through, I just click on "delete."

Peace,
dave

Same here, I just click it without looking inside the email. You don't need to get frustrated about it.

I never really get any... I've been using gmail for about two or three years and I've had a total of about 3 or 4 spam emails... When I do get them I use the gmail "report as spam" button, then the unsubscribe button, then delete it, and try to figure out how they got my address in the first place.
Gmail lets you do something neat, any "."s you put in your address are ignored, so I can put firstname.lastname@gmail.com or f.irst.n.am.elas.tn.ame@gmail.com or whatever, depending on who I'm giving it to... If I find that I'm getting spam at f.irst.n.am.elas.tn.ame@gmail.com I can filter it so they all get routed to my spam folder.

That's how I found out it was my bank who was spamming me, so I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and canceled my account with them.

I believe google supports sieve filtering, so you can sign up to a newsletter with user+newsletter@domain.com, and it will deliver the email to a mailbox called newsletter to user@domain.com.

This is a VERY handy, rarely used or known about, spam prevention technique.. find out exactly who's selling your email address..

After you get spam to that address, like pseudolobster mentioned, you can just forward email to that mailbox to be deleted automatically.
