Do you want the rep boosts back?

Meh I was on 14 but who cares :) Just out of curiosity, I got a neutral rep for helping someone out, does that mean they can't give positive rep yet?

And thanks for the manual update Avery :)

Yeah, that's what happened. The member who gave +/- rep had no "rep power", so it didn't do anything to your rep situation.

Going to try and squeeze in the same boat as T_J and not accept anymore rep from c0ld for doing nothing ... though the boat might sink before I have a chance to get in ... I don't want mines back.

I don't agree with the way this rep system works - people like Ranged ending up with a rep power of 130? No thanks.

No offence to Ranged ... but you don't contribute much, and you've got more rep than Lasersbee who does contribute. And you're not the only one.

IMO the rep system should be reset and everyone should build their rep up from scratch without super huge boosts from c0ld.

While we are on the topic of the rep system, I have attempted to give rep to members, whom I had not reped before, yet the system reports that I must spread out more rep before I can rep that member?

Even after spreading some more rep around it doesn't seem to work...?

I also agree, but some members enjoy having a 99999999999 rep power

Then they should contribute and actually work for the rep, then they can enjoy it all they want while everyone else gains something too, be that knowledge or inspiration, maybe eve something else. That's what it comes down to. ;)

I would be 100% fine with a complete reset if that is what people want. With all the rep boosts it is a little hard to keep things balanced and see who really contributes most. I am sure the contributing members would soon build theirs up again if we reset everyone back to zero.

I would agree with a reset but with some changes too:

C0ld is never going to bust anyone.
The reputation giving limit is going to be reduced (so we can give rep to more people more times).
The formula to calculate the rep power is going to be changed in a way in which you don't need millions of rep points to get a 100 rep power.

The actual system failed at the point in which if all the vets gave a positive rep to someone this guy wouldn't even get 1 or 2 rep points, this way the reputation would have taken 10 years to be built!

Some of the 'boosts' have been huge for some people, but putting everybody back to zero may not be the best answer either...

As a seller, I feel that my rep is important. I know that not everybody is a seller. But I had over 100 hard earned rep points before we went to vbulletin.

It would be a shame to loose all of that.

One thing that would make the system better, is to be able to read more than just the last few reps given...

"If everybody is getting them I want one too!"

Same here. I voted "no" because I thought it was going to be an all or nothing thing, if everybody else gets boosts again I might as well get one too...lol.
