The problem is that Saunas were invented to make the people sweat since you Nordic guys do never sweat and sweating is good.

But, here in Spain, where we are sweating all the day in summer and we are on a 15-20Cº average on winter (specially where I live, next to the sea) saunas seem to be useless. However there's one on my gym and I usually use it to relax myself after the training.

One in a while is nice but don't do it everyday.
It's bad for your testicles, in hot shower you notice they drop down, it's. To get heat away.

@bobhaha, bad idea to do such thing, could lead into thermal shock by the reaction of the body.

Here in the US, saunas (steamrooms) are usually found at health-clubs (health spa) or at the work-out gym.

Heck yeah, but I hate dry saunas. On the other hand I LOVE vapour-saunas, especially with an eucalypt smell.

I need to know if anyone has used an infrared sauna for weight loss before?

A guy I know already has a Canadian infrared sauna and I know that Canadian infrared saunas are really good for detoxification and illnesses recovery and even stress relief.

I have actually done a considerable amount of investigation on the internet and there are a few Canadian infrared saunas out there. I figured out quite a bit about infrared therapy on the Far North Wellness blog.

Nevertheless, I am trying to determine if there is much use for an IR sauna for loosing weight and does someone have real world experience with this – I would appreciate any advice – thank you.

I guess the best source for any reliable information on that would be pubmed. If you google around you'll get all kinds of stories, but i doubt there would be much science to weight loss from sitting in a sauna of any kind.

Obviously you will come out of a sauna lighter than you went in, but i think the idea of weight loss usually doesnt include the loss of water.
