Non-US, but I would vote Obama. He looks like he can add something new, where as John McCain is just more of the same.

The country is screwed either way so it doesn't make much of a difference. There is no way Obama can fix the mess Bush has made and McCain won't even try to fix the mess. He'll just be for more of the same.
2 Trillion wasted on Iraq for nothing.
Afghanistan falling back into chaos due to Bush "not staying the course" and sending the needed troops to Iraq.
Absolutely no progress has been made in developing alternative energy.
$4+ per gallon of gas.
People who work hard still being unable to make ends meet.
Massive illegal immigration problem that still isn't being dealt with.
Huge trade imbalance with China.
Rampant government corruption.
Massive income inequality.
I could go on and on and on..........

Underage here, too, but I'm libertarian... and thus disagree with both candidates.

But, have you guys even looked at Obama's plans for taxes? they're through the roof. That and he just can't make up his mind what the hell he wants to do in Iraq. I don't like McCain's stances either. :p

Really? Got any links :)[/quote]
Well, it was from 1986, but here's the rape joke:

"Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, “Where is that marvelous ape?”"

I also remember reading about how McCain made some joke about "Seizure World", I'll see if I can find it.

Ok, here it is.
"It (being the rape joke) came after his 'Seizure World' joke, in which he referred to the [retirement community] Leisure World as Seizure World..."

This year's election just sucks outright. I so hate having to vote for the lesser of two evils because there is no true outstanding candidate. Obama scares me because some of his statements suggest he doesn't value the counsel of those who understand a situation. He has suggested he will make decisions based on his own counsel. This is, therefore, a man who will run the country based not on the will of the people but on his own will. McCain scares me because he has no clear direction for anything. In fact neither candidate will take a true position. Where are the people who will stand and say "This or that is what I believe in and I will not waiver." Those are the people who do the best for the country because if they win, they win because people want to see that position upheld. If they do not win, then their position is not what the people want. Our current candidates mull around, mumbling about what they stand for so that no one can hear them and they have deniability when it come back to haunt them.

Frankly, I miss the days of Ronald Reagan. People either loved him or hated him but everyone respected him at every level of government and around the world. Why? Because he took a stand and did what he said he was going to do. Whether what he did was right or wrong depends on your political persuasion but the man was honorable. He was also humble before the office he held. Do you know he NEVER entered the oval office without a suit on? He respected the office so much he felt he couldn't desecrate the aura of the office by dishonoring what that office stood for. Here's a story of President Reagan. A friend of mine was a Marine stationed at Camp David during the Reagan presidency. The President's dog, Lucky, if I remember correctly, jumped on this Marine leaving muddy paw prints on his dress blue uniform. The President ran over and began dusting off the Marine and apologizing. Of course my friend insisted the President should not be concerned. The most powerful man in the world dusting off a Marine, a man who served the President, and apologizing at that! I respect that. Too bad that kind of attitude doesn't find its way into our leadership today.

Habeas corpus gone.
Every electronic frontier is fully and legally tapped (internet usage, phone, email).
Economy on the brink of collapse.
The possible merger of the USA, Mexico, and Canada into the North American Union (effectively nullifying our Constitution).
Food shortages (and food prices up)
Out of control lobbying of the Congress.
International banking cartels taking over.
The new "privilege" of the President to subject anyone to "Enemy Combatant" status regardless of nationality and without charge (Suspending ALL your rights).

I could go on and on and on too...........

I am an American citizen, and I choose not to vote.  Please don't lecture me why I should, because I heard it all.  My choice not to vote is a vote in my heart, because I choose neither.  If they had an option, "None of the above", then you bet I'd be at the stand voting, but we would go nowhere since all they find is giant douches and turd sandwiches.  With all the obvious items listed by Raz and Gr8rev, society is going down hill FAST.  And to stop it will take a miracle that not only one man can influence.  And what Frothy was saying about honor, that is what makes life beautiful, unfortunately society has morphed into this cancer where respect is forced and honor is disregarded.  At this point, it seems that we are doomed!    :'(
