and how it happened.

i have been shocked by 120 volts many times, a camera circuit( my arm went numb), and now my ignition coil driver.

I got shocked by a camera cap once, it wasn't fun.

To be "electrocuted" requires that you DIED from the shock.  An electrocution is a FATAL electric shock.

I've never been electrocuted, but I have been shocked more times than I can count.

Does a toaster/stove/furnace igniter/flyback/MOT/Pulse cap/9V batteries/taser count? ;D

Yes and almost.

Yes:
-This game - http://www.amazon.com/Jumpin-Banana-Shocking-Duel-Action/dp/B000JWN902
-Lawnmower motor - I was reassembling the motor. During that time I rotated the flywheel to make sure it turned freely. I didn't realize My other hand was of the spark plug wire. zap
-Various other things at low currents

Almost:
120v house hold current - I was messing around with a transformer from a charger or something like that. My brother later said he saw the flash under the door and asked what I was doing. Both of us are pyro and electro maniacs.

I never got shocked by household outlets or anything like that.

Yep, nearly 15 years ago was when I learned that a HeNe tube acts sort of like a capacitor. I had just disconnected the tube from a home made supply, grabbed both ends of it and ended up on the floor.

Lets see if I can remember them all.. im sure there is more, just cant remember ::)

At 4, I learned that wool socks were a recepie for winter chaos

When I was 5 I learned to put a 9v battery on my tounge to test it.

When I was 7 or so, I decided I was going to make a guitar amp with a 6x9 car speaker, an audio jack, and a cord from an old vacum aka 110v ...didnt work :-/

When I was 10, a friend tricked me into touching the spark plug on a running lawn mower..(got him back for that one)

When I was 12 I was bit by a black and white TV flyback..ouch!

During my 15th year on this planet, a friend returned from Florida with a AAA powered shocking joke lighter that had quite a jolt, used it in place of coffee during grade 10 :-?

At 17 I found a oil furnace igniter from an older type furnace, long story short, I had 10kv jump into my elbow on my right arm while my right hand was grounded, it sent me a few feet back, but luckily it didnt cross my chest :-[

Around 17 or 18, I learned first hand that a cars ignition wires eventually crack, and that the shock is worse than a lawn mowers, mainly when your knees are grounded to the bumber of said car ;D

Then there was like a ten year gap with only static shocks, and less stupidity  ;)

Last year while taking some pics, I had two he/ne tubes setup and figured id put my 5mW chrome greenie in the middle for a group shot. I was holding the camera with one hand, the lights were off, and yep you guessed it... I touched the + terminal on the he/ne tube with the laser pen and gota taste of the 1200v's

My uncle put a key in the wall socket as a kid, my grandmother got stuck to him trying to pull him off. My grandfather had to get the broom (wood) to get them both out of the A/C's grasp.
Never tried that one, but still poke fun at him for it til today :)

I've been shocked by the following devices.
1. A DC flyback with a cap in it. I touched the pins after running it without discharging the cap and got a shock that made my arm go numb for a few seconds.
2. A camera charging circuit with the cap removed. Not that bad, but still hurts a bit.
3. HeNe PSU. It holds a charge on the + wire after you turn it off and I've been shocked many times by the thing. It doesn't really hurt that much though. It's comparable to the DC flyback shock.
4. An adapter that puts out 24V AC. Normally this one doesn't shock as the voltage is too low. One day I was using it to power a project and I had sweaty hands or something and I got an unpleasant shock from it.

Why has nobody described their burns? Any serious cap discharges like a charge circuit from a camera leaves nice little burns. The ignition transformer @ 10kv left a tiny black pinprick, which developed into a much larger scab over a few days.

Am I the only one? Or am I missing something perhaps? :-X

If anything the biggest of my worries comes in the form of light these days. :-/

And any HV play is done with appropriate footwear, and one hand behind the back ;) ;D

The largest hit I took was from a 250,000V multiplier bank. The latest shock was from my Christmas tree. One of the lights was broken (the glass was missing) leaving two nice leads for my forearm to touch. Just a little burn from that.
