Unfortunately, it seems another one of these threads has to be started, this time to send rangedunits on a vacation. I feel a ban is in order in lieu of his recent comments in regards to the victims of the Haiti Earthquake, calling smidsy a removed and other nonsense posts he's made in recent days. Here are a few quotes to back up my argument.

These quotes are in regards to the Haitian Earthquake.

Okay Haiti, I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish but Indonesia had one of the best earthquake of all time.

Well, i have not edited my post because it doesn't matter.

Yeah maybe, it is too soon.

Red cross work in low-cost so those people in help can get more.

Their airport is tiny, they can't handle so many planes with food. :(

Also, if you have some cash laying around. you can actually go there and build home... in a few /week/months when the situation will improve.

-Ranged

These quotes are in regards to SMIDSY.

I think OP is homo. Tho i don't give a fuck.

Hi newfags

Endorsing gun violence to a situation that qas already resolved peacefully.

Its because of people like you, that get lasers banned and all.
He can sue you for loss of vision

You can replace an arm, and leg. but not eyes.

Btw, i almost got hit by a taxi last night.. i had a p7 and flashed him and made a bump on his cars..

You had a firearm, use it!

Here is a thread started by him in which he tries to say someone hacked his account, which is why all of that stuff has been posted. Do make note that those negative comments still have not been edited, and he's still posting garbage here thus reducing his statements credibility.

http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/tragic-event-47252.html

Members here can also check rangedunit's reputation here for reference to see all of the negative reputation he's accumulated in the past few days. Ask yourself, is this someone we want or need lurking these forums? My answer to that is no.

Reading through his posts, shows that being banned is exactly what he wants.:wtf:

I never understood the "negative attention is better than no attention" psyche. I know it exists. I understand how it works in the persons mind. I can recognize it when it appears. I just don't understand it. :undecided:

Peace,

I said to permaban him. Only for the haitian earthquake stuff, because i didn't know about the other stuff.

Seriously. People are dying, do you want live with no house, no food, no clean water, and not be able to find your family?

It was a 7.0, roughly twice the intensity of 'the big one' in the san francisco bay area.

Yeah... it almost looks like the "Wes Attention Syndrome"...
He seems to have been on "Self Destruct" mode for the last few weeks...
and his Reputation Points speak volumes...

@ zaery....scientifically completely untalented Jamie Hynieman...
:wtf: are you trying to say....

WOW -- 8 posts and we have a judge here............

While the condition there in Haiti is bad now, the media never reported before the quake that those people had poor shelter, food and water then. There were 10,000 relief agencies pouring money to the people but they never learned how to fish for themselves. Where's their government? Who are they ? Why aren't they seen there? Where did all the money sent to them by USA since they kicked out the French get spent or deposited? Why didn't the people overthrow the government and elect to live in poverty?
So many questions and the media won't ask them. That is the feeling in this area of the country.
It's sad but sometimes people allow it to happen to themelves. I'm glad we can help them more now but will they ever be told to stand up and feed themselves?

Are you trying to say something about post count? If so, then check my sig, cause it's already come up twice and i don't want to bother with telling people anymore.

Also, last i checked, haiti was already the western hemispheres poorest country. It has already had a lot of problems, but for some reason, for the media to care and tell people, there needs to be a natural disaster. Therefore, people don't realize that they need help until the media tells them so.

Also, if we just give them money, to help them get back on their feet, they'll still be the western hemishpere's poorest country. That's why i'm not donating to a relief organization until i find one that will help build high quality schools, because that's one major thing that can actually get a country working correctly and able to fend for themselves. If someone does, please tell me.

@lasersbee:
He follows absolutely no scientific rigor, but he's still awesome. For example, the running vs. walking in the rain episode. A real scientist would have tried different speeds, not just 2, and they also would have made the rain more rain-y and less mist-y and tried different sizes of raindrops, with wind and which direction you're walking, etc.

You let diachi go after spreading the password because "he's an old member and we should also keep in mind all the other good posts in his post count" but you want to ban rangedunits because he post senseless stuff? Come on...

Albert.... Did you not read what Rangedunits has been posting on this thread...

http://laserpointerforums.com/f59/haiti-earthquake-emergency-47163.html

It is not only useless but offending...

He has not removed the post....
He has not apologized....
and he has put the blame on "someone" else.... as seen here...

http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/tragic-event-47252.html

and he doesn't seem to have enough testosterone to be a man
about it...

@zaery.... I like the program.... and I know you think he's cool or you
wouldn't be bragging about knowing him by posting that Avatar..
As to the Rain Episode... there are always 100 ways to prove a theory.
Just because they only used 50 of them doesn't make them wrong..
The results would not have been drastically different... IMO

BTW... yeah... post count does mean something... it means that you have
been here a while and know some of the do's and don'ts of the Forum..
and have earned a reputation... whether good or bad...
We don't yet know who you are or if we can trust what you say... that
comes with time and the content of your contributing posts...

Back on topic... This is a Poll....

I decline to vote, it's not my call.

I have seen a LOT of nonsensical posts made by a lot of people.

I am very happy to be a part of this community, I visit this forum more than the forum I own and pay the bills for.

other people have said things just as bad or worse at times.....

You guys have probably figured out that I do not like Ranged, but I still don't think he deserves a ban.

My personal analysis of him:
Negatives -
Extremely random, not really in contact with the world (drugs?). Clumsy, rude and quite pathetic. Makes some sick and seriously misplaced jokes when not thinking, tries to get out of it in ridiculous ways, doesn't know what to do. Rarely contributes.

Positives -
Not actually wishing to do bad. Can contribute and does try to help when he is having his good days. Provides some sort of entertainment by being very odd.

IMO he can stay if he stops making rude comments and sick jokes and removes the previous posts. I do not believe he really wishes to cause harm, and I do believe he has potential for contributing.

I'll give you that, however he hasn't even edited the offending posts or at least given an apology. Instead he tries to blame someone else. If those aren't true colors then I don't know what is.

I do agree that it puts him in a much worse light to have left the posts there and even tried to blame his brother for "hacking" his account. His rep has taken a drop accordingly.. from around 130 to 12 rep power in a few days. However, I think the reason for leaving the posts and trying to get out of it with a stupid lie is down to his clumsy and confused way of expressing himself. Maybe he was high when he wrote it, and the next day genuinely wasn't sure whether it was himself who had written that, and then did not know what to do.
Perhaps if he was told "remove it and admit your mistake or get banned" he might understand it.. who knows..?
I guess I like to believe the best about people until they have clearly shown they do not deserve it. To me Ranged still has a chance to show that he is not completely hopeless.
