The WTH is that!!?? Thread..

A friend of mine recently sent me some links to youtube. Call me gullible,
but this stuff is pretty freaky!

The story im getting on this is that these clips were taken from the NASA website.
They were taken with a 'stereo' imaging satellite, and many consist of some crazy anomalies.

1- the sun rotates 360deg
2-large objects are seen orbiting the sun closely
3-the sun seems to fade in and out becoming translucent
4-:wtf:

So I figured i'd start a thread for any crazy and weird videos or articles related
to our solar system. This is NOT an area I am familiar with, but I know there are many
members here who may have some background to add to these claims being made.

Regardless of the credibility of these videos and claims, after watching some of
this stuff, it certainly made some hairs stand on end :scared:

A lot of what im seeing is footage from SOHO taken in early 2010.

#1 and #2 are just results of their image processing software getting fubared momentarily and the orientation getting messed up. You have to remember, 'up' is a relative thing, especially to an object in space. There's no telling what rotation SOHO was actually at relative to what we call 'up' in the images when the images were taken.. especially considering that they were taken over a long length of time.

#3 is probably just visual artifacts from post processing as well, considering in the short frame loop they jump around.

There was one other video I found to be interesting, and it is regarding the
position of the moon. Apparently amateur astronomers noticed this and posted
videos in relation on youtube.

And if you want to simulate the stuff yourself to play with, there's a neat program that's called celestia that can do it. It's even used in the last video at 7:53.

I completely agree... There are far too many conspiracies popping up
on a daily basis.

I like my documentaries, and keeping up with world events like most.
The problem with things like this is its just not a subject im familiar with..

These people get an idea in their head and can be quite convincing if you are
a noob on the subject.

I figured posting on LPF would be a good idea to put some of these ideas to rest.
Im sure all of us have seen videos that make you think, and even get you going

For some reason the 3rd video wont play, but I say +1 for answering the questions
with two videos containing Floyd tracks :beer:

Another program being used in those videos is Stellarium. Also free like Celestia, it's great for learning about the night sky. I highly recommend both.

I would agree, even more so when played on a good home theatre..It sounds
very close to their position, but im not seeing much around them..

I google mapped the roads named in the video during the claimed 911 call..

The only road I get in florida is this and its surrounded by trees, so im thinking
it right.

This wierd thing.. Some guy ("sodahead13") posted a video of himself chugging a soda a few years ago, I can't find the original anymore because the owner closed his account. However, at 1.37 it appeared as if something living pops out of his mouth.. Extremely creepy!! It's not fake, this guy had loads of chugging videos on youtube with many views.. Just search..

LMFAO! That sounds like some sort of air/spacecraft engine run. Just because the gas station employees didn't hear anything doesn't mean the noise didn't come from the airport.

I don't think the HAARP project had anything to do with the noise. I can only think of one possible way for HAARP to cause noises like that. That would be the radio waves interacting with something in the atmosphere. I'm thinking along the lines of auroras since auroras make noise too.

Most of those are normal aircraft contrails.
