I don't know about the US, but on my motorbike the accelerator is on the right hand grip, he would have slowed down and fell back when he released it? , and that cup would have rattled off within 10ft of the car pulling away.

old military bikes had them on the left so that the rider could use the MG strapped to the right side of the bike but yes, throttles are on the right over here and twist back.

Forward twist throttles are a fail in and of itself!

I had an old LG flip phone. Made of plastic. No rubberized plastic, no neoprene case. Just plastic phone. I left it sitting on top of my car one night, drove home. top speed 40MPH, but still, pretty impressed to find it still on top of my car when I got home. I can understand something staying on the bumper behind a car, but something on top of the roof I'd have thought more airflow up there than behind the car.
