Know Your Blood Alcohol Content with the Breathometer Smartphone Accessory

It’s a question that every responsible citizen has asked himself at one time or another:
What is my blood content right now?
But thanks to an upcoming gadget you attach to your smartphone, you never have to wonder about this crucial bit of data again.

It’s called the Breathometer, and once you plug it into your or Android, it can give you an accurate reading of your BAC – as accurate as any breathalyzer test.

If this sounds like just the thing to keep your weekends (and Tuesdays, and Mondays and Thursdays) running smoothly, you can head to the Breathometer’s website here, where they’re starting at $20.
They won’t start shipping until July, though, so try to keep everything together until then.

Peace,
dave

You have to spend $100 to get one in July...

Given that high quality breathalyzers start well into the high hundreds of dollars, and reviews on ~$100 units are very mixed, I have to question that the results produced by the breathometer would be accurate.

I do enjoy the occasional drink, and would love to purchase a good breathelyzer, but can't quite swallow the $500+ price tag, to get a unit similar to those used by cops when you get pulled over.

Easier to just measure out the exact amount you consume... (over) estimate content in drinks you do not make yourself, and do the math based on bodyweight and time.

Of course the rate of consumption, and stomach content also make a difference. You can down ~20 shots feel fine for an hour after, and be passed out fifteen minutes after that. (College... good old days :p)

I think this is a huge win for common sense...

When I was in Tech School, at Lackland Air Base, there was a liquor store that would deliver to the dorms :tinfoil:

At least that's what I heard ;)

It is also the first place I saw drive-thru liquor stores

Peace,
dave

Heh, we also had a delivery service in college. I never used it... was always too broke, but deliveries were available for far more than alcohol :shhh:
