....because I've been running one of those green laser kaleidoscopes out my front window onto the side of the garage since the beginning of December and I just can't take it down!

Here's what it looks like from outside. The laser is projecting from the bottom R side in the window.

It projects a continuous green pattern of 'bursting stars' along my front walkway and is easily but safely visible from passing by on the street. (trust me I tested my own eyes doing this several times)

So tonight she asked me to take all the lights down because it's unseasonably warm out & I wouldn't have to do it in the cold. I told her ok but instead decided to take some laser refraction pictures on the garage. I used one of those little crystal snowmen she hung along our walkway for the refraction pattern....

I decided to see how one watt of 445 would look instead of 60mw of 532.... Holy crap was it bright on a white garage door!

I tried doing both blue & green but the blue completely outshines the green

So now she's mad at me because the lights are still up & I took pictures instead... but then when I told her I was going to post these pictures on LPF she wasn't angry anymore & started talking about dinner. I knew she'd come around and understand :)

So you got lucky and bought yourself another day or two. Well done!:D

Women... they just don't understand the appeal to sparkly shiny lighty-uppy things!

Except jewellery. They certainly understand some appeal to that...

I assume the duty cycling on that kaleidoscope is continuous, and that it runs on mains rather than batteries? That's pretty cool. Has it been on in the daytime too? Haha... that's fun. Next year you need to have a scanner running, or at least a spirograph.

Disclaimer (in case my woman reads this): It just so happens that none of the above post applies to Chezumss. She likes sparkly shiny lighty-uppy things and isn't bothered about jewellery.

What was for dinner, btw?

hehehe thanks! ....until she changes her mind & sends me out there again, yes!

I don't run it during the daytime because it's pointless, but I have run it roughly from dusk until midnight for the past month without any concern. Yes this laser plugs into the wall too, there's no batteries otherwise I wouldn't consider using it as part of the chrsitmas light setup.

Monday night is often spaghetti night in my house & tonight I used more garlic than usual. We have to do pasta at least 1 night per week & lasers at least 6 :)

..... Then the next time, steal some diamonds or similar jewelry from her, and do these pics with the jewelry, so also her can feel it appealing, involving jewelry ..... LOL J/K, she can shoot you for the stealing :p :D

@danefex: Ahh, right. I thought you meant you just flicked it on and then left it for the whole of december. Pasta is good, did you cook it with mince meat? Everything is better with meat!
But that sounds like one night too few for lasers.

@HIMNL9: Before Chez was into lasers (with the exception of my spirograph, which fascinates everyone) this was the first one she took a real interest in:

It's sort of a cross between a laser and jewellery.

But she isn't actually into jewellery much, just lots of clothes. And she now isn't so into the StridAst host and prefers torch-styles with a bit more shape.
...They always do like to change their minds...

No I don't run it all day everyday hehe, I just flick a switch on when it gets dark & off before passing out in bed :)

Pasta with mince meat? I've heard of Italians using bacon grease in their sauce as a secret ingredient but never heard what mince meat can do. Please tell me more...

You never heard of Sauce Bolognaise or "Ragu'" ,as italians call it?
Here's a proper recipe.

I've heard of both but didn't put the two together.... I see now, thanks.

Yeah, what anselm said. It's warm and juicy and greasey and delicious. Go make some! And email it to me!
