There is just no way the 7G5MT can outthrow the 7G5CS.

The 7G5CS iirc throws to 60-65kcd, the niwalker does just a bit better, and the 7G10 is bit better than that.

The reflectors on those lights are HUGE though, while between the 7G5 lights, they will be relatively similar.

I expect somewhere in the 30-40kcd range from the 7G5MT. The BS terminator is cheaper, more powerful (~1800 vs ~3500), and also has thrown in the 40-50kcd range.

Terminator is just ugly IMO, the Fire is much nicer looking but performance isnt there. I might look into finding a 7G10 for cheap and try that, even though it wasnt up to your expectations.

What turned you off on the 7G10?

EDIT: Also looking into the 7G9 so if you have experience with that then let me know. Also still waiting on that list of lights you might sell :D

Never met up with friend over the weekend who is modding a bunch of them for me, so i didn't put together a list.

About the 7G10...

When you insert batteries it's on - you get blinded every time.
It is painfully easy to turn on accidentally.
The threads between battery tube, and body are subpar, and grind.
Lousy build quality considering the price - it's a fine enough $60-$80 light, but it's not up to par in competing with lights over $100, and it's $137. The cheapest I ever saw it was for $100, and that was pulled due to being below map. Even for $100 I wouldn't get it.

The 7G9v2, aside from the fact that it's not driven fully to potential, is a much better light... well thought out, and throws well. I'm having mine modded to 5A, and I expect it will break 100kcd after that with ease.

Alright ill keep my eye out for your PM and hold off on buying a light until I hear back on what you are selling. Im considering buying a 7G9 if you dont have anything that peaks my interest :p

For the OP, I'd say stick with lights that can run offa CR123a. Don't you guys get those by the truckload anyways?

It's a shame SF is so expensive, e1b or eb1 would be nice! Their nitrolon bodied lights are cheaper, but who wants a plastic flashlight again?

Anyways, what was the final recommendation for the op?

Think he ran with the smaller lights, which one not sure. He bought my 7G5CS U2 for a personal light.

Also the SF hosts are nice and relatively cheap but dang those P60 drop ins can be expensive!!!!

Ah, I see earlier on, SF was used to reference solarforce. I was talking about SureFire ;-) I had my eye on the SF E1B for a while, its successor, the EB1, is ~$250. Maybe someday I'll get lucky and come upon a well-used or in need of repairs E1B that someone wants to let go for cheep

Solarforce is half decent, I have an old L2, the one with more squared and pointed knurls, in gunmetal gray. Only gripe is the tail switch. Not that it can't be easily replaced, mind you!

Thinking about trying to make a P60 using a TIR instead of those reflectors that everybody has. Generic P60 drop-ins are cheap as stink! Get you some blank ones, some amc7135 drivers, and an LED and you are ready to go!

Yup, I saw them, and even got to checkout. Then common sense took over and told me I shouldn't get another light until I release a few of mine back into the wild :p

Ah well maybe I can help you with that ;)

Suprisingly I think Id take the XML over the MGT2 on the Niwalker......Vihn's modded K40 looks sick as heck though and only $160 shipped!

Actually I just got my Vinh's modded k40 in the mail today :D

Can't wait for it to get dark... I think it will be a complete monster outside.

Not so sure about the Niwalkers... ideally what I would like is the MTG2 but driven a whole whole lot harder. I'm gonna talk to Vinh see if that's something he would be willing to take on.

Let me know what he says. I might contact him about doing over a light of mine in the future. Im actually hoping to wins Pulsars torture contest since that light is a piece of "history" and work of art IMO
