for example, the fantastic (for me) Millennium trilogy of Stieg Larsson

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo "Män som hatar kvinnor"

The Girl Who Played with Fire " Flickan som lekte med elden"

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets "Luftslottet som sprängdes"

For the past few months "A Song of Ice and Fire" has occupied my life. I finally finished the first four books and coincidentally his fifth book of the series has just come out.
Another 1000 pages of insanity begins!

Funny. I wonder if it's the same as this 1001 games list: link
I've probably only played %10 of that list.

Don´t know.

From this list I know about 70-80% of the games.

Played about 10-12% of them.

In addition to many of the books listed, I have really enjoyed the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.

I've had to read tons of Nietzsche and Foucault but neither really give me the warm fuzzies. I rather liked the Tale of Genji and the Tao Te Ching, and found some amazing lines from the Mahabharata and the essential Kabbalah.

Add Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko to the list.

Read the series in both russian an english, the translation is very good... there is virtually no difference. The movies (two in russian) suck.

About to finish the last book in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.

Anyone have a recommendation on a long science or fantasy series for me? Preferably 5 books+ but a trilogy at a minimum?

In the last two books I started skipping paragraphs, he's TOO descriptive sometimes.

Still can't wait to see what happens at the very end:)

I think he wrote some over books in the same setting, after this series... but if you're only on the fourth one you have a looong way to go.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation... time to visit amazon:)

(I read quite a few of denning's start wars books...)

also Jack Kerouac

The Dhama Bums
On The Road

I'm reading The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, all defiantly worth a read
