I am just curious as to what soldering iron everyone uses.
I am in the market for a new on cause i just am not happy with my Weller WLC100 and I think it's time to upgrade. It's not the best soldering Iron but it has served me well in modding numerous Wii and Ps2's; and making some nice Laser Diode Drivers!

I am looking for something with a Pencil style grip and anything from course to very fine tips. My price range is under $200 USD. So far I have heard good things about the Metcal PS-800, Metcal SP-200, and Hakko 936-12. I also hear Weller's WESD51 is decent too. So any suggestions and advice from experience with different systems would be Welcomed and very much Appreciated. Thank you! :)

I have an Aoyue 968 soldering and hot air rework station. It works well enough, but you probably don't need the rework portion of it.

The Metcal stations are supposed to be really nice. If you can afford em, those may be the best of what you listed.

So After lots and lots of looking around and a little research about soldering irons i decided to go ahead and search on flee bay for a Metcal. I managed to find a Metcal SP-200 for a little over $100. It came with everything and i ordered some more tip cartridges. I just hope what everyone says about Metcal's are true. Thank you everyone for your input. :)

25w radioshack cheapo, a weller gun 50watt, i dont use these.

my favorite soldering iron is the hakko 456 63watt but i dont solder with it, it has a different use(ceramic heat element).

what i solder with is an adjustable radioshack iron.
