Lol I realized the other day that it was my addiction to LPF all throughout highschool that led me to become an electrical engineering major...

What is everyone else's major if you're in college? What's your target major if you're not!

also what college you're going to (I'm at UCSB)

LOL I'm like the opposite. I tried both Photonics and Electrical Engineering (at Algonquin College in Ottawa) but I hated them and dropped out. I'm taking a year off now and then hopefully going into Geology next year.

Hmm... started with psychology, then sociology, philosophy, political science, criminal justice, slavic studies, history, accounting, economics, and finally business administration.

Ultimately I dropped out after second year... Just didn't see a point in it.

I can 99% claim that I went to electrical engineering college because of lasers. the first experimentations with the DDL driver fascinated me. I did on year in Greece, now I visit a language course in Germany. Need to pass a language test in order to be accepted in the electrical engineering department in Stuttgart. Things are shit in Greece. GO figure if I can find a job there. LOL. Glad I decided to move abroad where things are serious and people respect you and your special interests. Nough said. Which year are you amkdeath?

I have a BA in Religious Studies.

I went on to get about a half-dozen software patents, and pioneer a couple of world-changing software innovations. (I was responsible for MATLAB for about 12 years, if anyone here has ever heard of MATLAB).

There's a lesson there, about college degrees, but it would be a lengthy and pedantic lesson to explain.

I have a Bachelors of Applied Psychology from Penn State University.
During the 4 1/2 years there, I logged about 700 hours of intensive internship experience.

I'm now a mechanic. :crackup:
I build, design, and maintain high speed packaging equipment for a living....

Yup, I graduated and then decided that I enjoyed working with my hands and didn't want to sit behind a desk. lol

Has/is anyone on here gone to school for Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology?

I am currently a senior in high school and I have started to narrow down the schools I'm looking at. But due to my grades I don't think a sole engineering program would be for me. I'm far more hands on oriented and I'm not too hot at most text book work. So my tech teacher told me about the engineering technology majors. They seemed to suit me a lot more.

If anyone has some feed back it would be much appreciated!


Lol, it's kind of funny I joined this forum in 8th grade. Now I'm a Senior, boy does time go by fast.

You should move to Nebraska. Its been the most recession proof state for the last 4 years, and UNL is also very well funded. You could probably come here on scholarship.
