Say what? They're still being used over here here. The only thing slower than paying with cash is checks! It takes about two seconds to swipe and go, no pin needed.

Due to the lack of ATMs in the UP that don't charge for withdrawals nearly all of my purchases are with credit/debit cards. We have 2 ATMs in a 30mi radius and both charge $5/transaction and the minimum withdrawal is $20, maximum of $200.

We don't have that system here. It takes appx 50s~ for someones credit card to be approved; some systems even take a couple minutes. Cash takes about 10s (if the cashier is of a reasonable speed), and plus there's never a problem with cash being accepted :p

Canada just started to remove pennies. It rounds to the nearest .05$ now.

50s? Bloody hell, takes about 10s max here to process a transaction on card :D

What really grinds my gears is people that come in where I work and ask for some magical cable or device like a HDMI to RCA cable, then bitch and whine when you say it's gonna cost more than $5 to do that. Some people really shouldn't be allowed technology :D

That's kind of nuts... here it takes ~5 seconds max from the time you swipe to the time payment is approved.

Especially in places that you don't have to sign, I find it to be faster. Actually i find myself using my debit card more than anything.

With regards to security concerns... check your balance every few days, if you see anything unusual report it, and you're protected. I have had a couple of charges show up... reported them, money was back in my account within a week.

What I think more US stores should do, is offer a discount to people who pay cash... credit card fees range from the lowest of about 1% and $0.10 per transaction to as high as 4%+ and $0.35 per transaction.

It grinds my gears that other business don't follow suit with what gas station owners have done, and offer a lower cash price.

^HAHAHAHAHA!!! are you serious? ^^''

What really grinds my gear is that there are a select few very wealthy powerful people who get to decide what you and i can and can't do...

I mean ... who dafuq can tell me where i can and can't live?!
Who put them in charge of planet earth? who gives them the right to decide what happens to a planet which isn't even theirs?

I say down with all borders... down with all visa's, green cards and all that bla bla BS... DOWN WITH NATIONALITIES!

To me there is only one nationality... which is ''earthling'' ... No more country borders deviding us... united we stand devided we fall..

Call me crazy... but to me every human being is equal, and in the end we are all the same... we are all humans..

We're not all equal though. Far from it.

Would be nice if everyone had an equal opportunity to succeed though.

A bunch of fat white white guys who got tired of paying high taxes tried to do that a couple of hundred years ago.

To create a system whereby people would be guaranteed the opportunity to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It didn't work out so well, but is still a work in progress.

Conversely in another place, starting about 96 years ago, there was an attempt to create true equality. To treat all equally.

That was an absolute and miserable failure.

You know what really grinds my gears?

Pizza so thin that it can't even support the sauce, and cheese on it. I'm now sporting a nice stain for the rest of the day :p

I hate it when (although I'll admit I've been drawn into it before) people use analogies in a discussion to make their point. I really wish we could make a rule to ban making analogies in arguments or argumentative discussions, because they are typically bad, and almost always annoying.

LOL. HDMI to RCA??? Skipping a few steps, aren't they?

I hate it when:
[rant]
1. People who are really glutinous who are impatient when waiting for the double bacon cheese burger and shake and 2 orders of fries they are planning to solo. I am not saying everyone should be skinny, but if your thighs have thighs, and your fat hangs over the chair so it looks like you are hovering, stop eating so damn much.

2. People who order shakes where I work. Not their fault that making a shake where I work is the BIGGEST pain in the ass ever, but I am tired of it. I hate the way people say that they want a "chocolate shake". Then their eyes glaze over a little bit and I gain much contempt.

3. People who drive slowly. If you are not going to maintain the speed limit, take public transit.

4. People who are fake.

5. The time it takes to charge a 26650 battery.

6. Windows 8 operating system.

7. People.

People that use hashtags anywhere other than twitter. I hate the twitter mentality.
